Anyone know how to get rid of the huge tooltip boxes?

Does anyone have an idea how to get rid of the giant tooltip boxes that appear when mousing over a switch or knob on the panel?

It does not appear you can turn them off.  I know it was requested many times in the Alpha but it looks like we have to live with them....

They really need to get rid of this for those that don't need it.

They are particularly annoying with TrackIR, as you look around and one of the buttons happens below your idle and hiding mouse cursor.  I'm trying to train myself to move the cursor into a corner or onto a second monitor, but that only makes things more annoying should you need to change a dial and your cursor is now several hundred if not thousand pixels away!
