We don't mind.  Lots of people who are seeing a flight simulator for the first time won't mind.  It won't be the first "paid beta" I've ever bought either. 🙂 

Some will mind a lot, but they complain about everything anyway.  Right? 😄

Other than the famous "stutter bug" that a handful of us seem to be having (rolling back nvidia drivers helped) I have been enjoying the sim.

The real danger is that all the devs resources are now channeled into pushing for a console release. It already seems so much of the design has been built with that in mind.

By the way I worry MSFS 172 was rushed without checking AD for sea rails! Guys be careful don't slide back in climb! 🙂

I don't guarantee that's true.  Just a feeling though.  Even if it were it's not something that would bother me as not everyone involved would be working on a console release.

It is going to be ok. Take a deep breath and just know that there will be a release next month, and another in October, and another in November and so on. The simulator, game will continue to get better. I promise you, it will eventually get better than Microsoft Flight.

The launch of FS2020 is the epitome of this issue. It's quite clear that despite all the Alpha and Beta testing, the developers did not have the time and space needed to ensure that the sim reached a point actually worthy of release. 

A flight simulator with broken flight dynamics, broken camera views, buggy displays.. the list goes on. If Asobo can't even get these things nailed, then FS2020 is not a simulator, at best it's just a re-hash of Microsoft Flight, the classic arcade game which ultimately crashed and burned. 

Many will argue that the releases of FSX and P3D weren't perfect either. But let it be known that those releases were MUCH MORE polished than the current state of FS2020.

FS2020 was released in a much more broken state than any of it's predecessors, let's make that clear. 

 

 

 

So, "the me too" movement has finally reached the flight sim community! And how in God's name can you possibly say that P3Dv5 was a more polished release than FS! Your arrogance is breath taking. So you have not listened or taken notice of anything the MS/Asobo team have said about it's future, and YES FS is a simulator in the fullest sense of the word! So do us all a favour, return your copy of FS and go back to playing battlefield, because you and your ilk sure don't deserve this masterpiece!!

It's only your opinion about the flight model. Many others of real-life pilots wrote, that flight dynamics is near to ok and you have to don't forget, that those are only a default planes. What do you expect for only 60$? You have to wait for some profi add-ons, which every one can be for 60$. But default planes are still much more better, than default planes in previous sim. Asobo clearly declared, that default planes will not be a perfect, but good for beginnig. And mainly declared, that they primarily make an open simulation platform, which everybody can use how want. Simply game with default planes or an advanced simulation with a professional plane addons. So stop this whine...

Stuff like this is the epitome of AvSim bickering and ranting.

I sometimes need to take extended breaks from AvSim because the high volume of unconstructive criticism and negative bickering like this.

I am fairly sure that many new members just stay a short while, but stuff like this make them go away and never come back. And stuff like this especially drives away people who want to have some intelligent and mature discussions about flight sims and aviation. Those that remain are often those that frequently rant and complain, because hey, that's apparently what people do around here.

People sometimes need to re-read what they are about to post, and ask themselves whether or not they are about to contribute to a mature discussion about the topic at hand.

And a study level ornithopter in the default aircraft.  A2A quality at least.  PMDG systems depth if they can manage it.

Funny thing that.  I just jumped into the Cessna 152 and went flying.  And enjoyed it.  It felt just like the 150 I took lessons in many years ago.  Later flew it over some of the most incredible scenery you could ever imagine, and all in the default scenery.  Discovered something magical.  

And the whole time I didn't give a rat's hiney about the non-working circuit breakers.  I know!  Maybe I didn't care about... realism!

Weird because in another thread you stated you hadn't bought the sim yet... but it's nice to know you like shiny things. My cat also loves shiny things with no substance because she's a cat and incapable of knowing better.

I wish it HAD been a rehash of Microsoft Flight!  They had an incredible flight model an a good variety of aircraft.  Lots of cool activities for newcomers as well.  You could fly as seriously as you wanted to.

The problem was that it didn't have airliners and that offended a certain segment of the simming population.  It was also limited in the areas you could fly.  And no real world weather... I never cared for the weather themes.

But I did love me some Microsoft Flight at the time.
