Affinity Mask - FPS boost

Recommended Posts

I don't understand why people are having performance issues I'm not having any and my system isnt the fastest by any means and I'm running on high settings. My system is (Laptop) i7-7700HQ (equivalent perf to the i7 3700K) GTX1070M (equivalent to GTX980) (8GB Vram) 32GB DDR4@2400MHZ. I'm getting 30-40 FPS everywhere. I do run in 1080P though. Never seen the reason to go to 4k and loose FPS

Dude... let me break it down for you...

You are running at 1080p. You don't see the reason to go to 4k (or 2k I suppose) and "loose" FPS.

If you raised your resolution above 1080, you would lose FPS.

Many people use resolutions above 1080.

That may be why they have lower FPS...

Thankfully, for us, you keep your resolution lower so you don't loose your FPS upon us.

😄

You dont understand, i have i5 3600hz gtx 1060 3gb vram and also run everything at HIGH and above 30fps...but at 1080P

when people complain about fps they are usually at 1440 or trying 4k

No problems w/ performance here using most settings at ultra at 3440x1440.   But I still vsync to a 30Hz screen, which I have no troubles with.  Smooth, stutter-free.

Please, for the love of god, do not try to run this sim using default settings! Aviation simulation is not a game - setup and tweaking is serious business.

This is the guide that I used to set up MSFS.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND DO NOT SKIP ANY STEPS!!!

https://www.simforums.com/forums/the-fsx-computer-system-the-bible-by-nickn_topic46211.html

YOU SKIPPED SOME OF THE STEPS, DIDN’T YOU?? NOW YOU WILL NEED TO GO BACK TO THE START AND BEGIN AGAIN.

This link covers the basic initial setup and tweaking, which should only take a number of hours. After this, you will be ready to test-boot the sim and try out the menus.

As my next post, I will cover mid-level tweaking, which you should complete before embarking on your first MSFS flight.

Good luck!

..you must be kidding me, this is an ancient Guide for FSX, if I'll need to go through the same tedious process again I reather stay with X-Plnae 11
