3 Days and Haven't Flown Yet

Recommended Posts

I've had this new simulator going on 3 days now and yet to fly it. The controls are so sensitive it's impossible to fly. I take off and go up about 200 feet and the darn thing gets out of control immediately. The graphics are awesome, sure with I could figure out how to fly the thing.

Make sure you have mapped the axis functions on your axis and not the button functions.

I did the same thing, I mismapped the controller..good Lord, the plane was everywhere!

How's your elevator trim? Trimmed for T/o? That usually throws me out of control.

Check this - I made the exact same mistake and the throttle was driving me bonkers

The trim has screwed me over a few times now. I think there is a bug somewhere here as well. Some flights (with the same plane) are perfectly fine. Then I pick a different plane and my trim magically starts heading for full nose down. I furiously put in up trim, sort it out, then it starts heading back down. I tried looking for something else mapped to the trim, but saw nothing. As a side note, finding what is mapped to what is a bit of treasure hunt. I have three controllers plugged in and spend 10 minutes trying to find out if something is mapped somewhere.

autopilot is probably on doing that, it was on without me enabling it.  deactivate autopilot and all is well.

Think this is pinned somewhere, but Squirrel did a great video on setting up peripherals that may help.

Sounds like MCAS. I would stay on the ground until you sort it out!

Set all your DEAD ZONES to between 15-20 % and you will love it.  No sketchiness at all.  I have all mine personally now at 15% across the board...and it gives me the same input feeling as I had in P3D and XP11.x  All good!

yes true, thats why i before start check all axis, especially the trim axis!

i do a full maximum movement up/down and set it to takeoff.

forgetting the check starting without checking the trim wheel before has often led me almost to a crash!

Interesting. What flight controls do you use?
