MSFS2020 Courchevel Airport Landing - barely 11GB/64GB Ram

Featured Replies

Hey,

Does MSFS2020 even consume tons of ram at all? Or it is all about the streaming data.  I just upgraded my pc to whopping 64GB Ram and running MSFS2020 in 4K barely consumed ram.  The whole system was utilizing 11gb of ram.

Interesting observation don't you think?  My bet 32GB of Ram is overkill for the sim and even my 64GB is just super overkill lol.

Later

32GB is not overkill. It depends on your background apps, page file settings, Windows mood.

go to KSEA and try. We can talk after.

I have 32 and have seen it regularly go over 16 overall usage. The sim averages 10-15GB on my system. It will spike to 20GB usage for the system while loading in to KSEA for example.

I have 16GB in my rig and I think it uses around 10GB for me.

That's not a heavy area. Highest ram usage will be in places with photogrammetry.

My system jumped up to around 30GB used flying over New York. 32 is not overkill at all.
