I think sending controllers to this popular streamer, resulting in her streaming content of using MSFS is really good. It can bring in many new people to the flight sim genre and expand the user base. It might even expand the number of younger people and females to get interested in MSFS and I think that would be a good thing.

This also means that newcomers will bring in more revenue to MSFS, which means there will be more investment in the platform by Microsoft and that is even good for the purists that seem to think flight sim should be an exclusive club.

I could be wrong, but I would seem to think that the majority of her “fans” are probably not all that interested in flight simming Nor would be wanting to invest The money in something that they Just might want to try, what would you say, 2% of her followers would be interested in trying? And even that would seem a high percentage I feel. But you are right, if it does attract people then we all win.

And yes I Do know she has a large following, and I’m also not saying she has bad content, in fact I’m sure she has really good content.

That is extremely inexpensive advertising for the following that she has. Also, she is not the only one. I suspect some smart individuals from Microsoft and one or two marketing-related consulting firms got together and created a solid marketing strategy. One part of this would be to compel high value gaming streamers on YouTube, Twitch, etc. to review and stream MSFS gameplay.

This is actually done on purpose with a strategy, execution plan, and metrics. It is not just some flunkie who decided to send a bunch of stuff out to some rando on YouTube.

You’re right, there is a tactic behind it, and it’s for certain they are much more in the know than I am as I have absolutely no marketing experience. But the video itself is ridiculous, and not like in a “she is ridiculous” kinda way, but for a flight simulator type video.

Will they also be coming out with a set or rudder pedals? I am hoping so, as I would like to have all my equipment by one brand.

Yes they are going to be coming out with pedals. They've openly talked about them and have given the name "Charlie".

That's awesome! In the meantime I will just use the keyboard for the rudder controls while I wait for that.

Microsoft is wanting to broaden the appeal of flight simulation so they can make money and invest in future features and enhancements to MSFS. Having inexpensive advertising via young female and male gaming streamers that might not appeal to crusty middle aged and senior aged men. I see some of the silly and vapid things online that appeal to my daughters that I would never watch, but I have to say, it gets their attention.

It's all about marketing and speaking effectively to your audience.

Oh I hear you on that, some of the things my daughter watches I don’t know what to make of it, but your right, it gets their attention for sure! But on the same token, my daughters probably think the same when they see me simming at my computer as think of their videos lol But this post got de-railed...

I’m looking for honeycomb also, but missed the boat, all suppliers in my area are sold out.

Ridiculous. That's way too much. Doesn't matter how good they are.

Ordered mine on amazon for $250 three weeks ago and received it in a couple of days after ordering. Shipping was free. I noticed they’re out of stock now. It is a good yoke. Good luck with the purchase. If I see it back in stock,I’ll let you know.
