Are Autopilot issues declining or is this just anecotal?

Yeah or disengage autopilot before you hit pause so the autopilot doesn't run your trim all the way up.

He he, yes, the latter much better he he 🙂

My Cessna G1000 autopilot is busted big time.

Heading crabs plane even though no wind, and disengaging it makes it uncontrollable.

Indeed, active pausing is a real no-no if you're using the autopilot.

Reality Is For People Who Can't Handle Simulation!

On the Caravan AP. attempting to select an approach that doesn't exist {just says None}, crashes sim when you click accept !

Becoming more familiar with the sim also might help. Some keybinds interfere with the ap and caused lots more issue at the start. Also tweakibg for better fps also seems to help. Adversely poor fps negatively affects the ap.

Definitely check your key bindings and joystick assignments, and double check them.  I use an Xbox controller for the drone camera, and suddenly it was mapped to all my plane controls as well out of nowhere (was working fine and then it wasn't).  So, even if you know you set them correctly, check them again.  Using the "assigned" filter is great.  Go through and make sure there's nothing extra in there.

Haven't used time accel. since FSX days. No the "travel to" option seems a lot more attractive.

I hope they can address this at some point. I fly a lot in FSEconomy, where you can't slew without triggering the plugin to disallow the flight, but it will allow time compression. And I need autopilot for the longer assignment legs.

I think they are doing updates where silent updates are possible. For example, when the sim was new, selecting a high altitude IFR flight plan did not spawn a suggested SID, and now it does. It might be coincidence (I haven't tested it on the same plans).

I hope they aren't doing silent updates. Has the version number changed since it released? I haven't checked.

Changes should be tagged with version numbers and release notes for any fixes and additions, posted on the launch screen. That way we can track what's going on, and not flood the support system with things that are already fixed.

I think that more pilots are using the Autopilot Tutorial in the FS2020 Tips and Tricks section.

It's not the former. I would be flying with AP on and suddenly the plane would just take a header for no apparent reason. It hasn't done that in days now.

I'm still getting this..

I think a lot of the initial issues were due to incorrect or conflicting control bindings (I know mine were) - and now people are now settling on their config.

That said - I didn't see a G1000 glidescope meatball until a day ago - but that might just be because it works in one 'plane and not another. And of course I now can't remember which...

The glideslope indicator works for me in ILS mode, it is broken in RNAV LPV mode.

I'm sorry Bert....not sure if anyone's told you, but you're generally forbidden to reply in any post unless you're helping someone with a panel mod and/or a (name-your-favorite-gps) mod.

Please refrain from replying in the future unless your post is about the subject above.  I was monitoring the post read-counter in the background of AVSIM and I saw your post spike 10,000 views.....you're gonna crash Avsim if you're not careful!

I'm patiently waiting (hoping really...have not seen any chatter of their MSFS plans) for RXP to bring the GTN 750 over to MSFS.  You have my permission to reply to posts concerning that when (if) it happens. 🙂

Major issues with autopilot in 747. If you resume a flight both it and the AT are off. I had a heck of a time trying to re-engage. Worse though, all the flight plan had dropped off the FMC meaning it is impossible to do a long haul flight in the 747 in more than one sitting. Don't know if this also affects the Neo.

Submitted a report to Zendesk, FWIW.

Steve, I have fixed many Carenado autopilots in my time here.. and I would not mind doing it again, if I had access to the code.. which I do not..

As for addon GPS gauges.. we will have to wait and see.. I am sure RXP would happily oblige, but they do not have access to the code either, as best I know..

Traditionally I've been a airliner guy most of my simming life.  Dabbled in GA just to "pretend" to take my personal TBM or PC12 between airline hubs if I wanted to keep the continuity of the trip but really didn't want to take a 747 from Atlanta to Tampa for my next hop.

This sim has completely made me appreciate GA and what's below 10,000 feet!

Not only is it mostly superior to any previous sim, no matter how much ortho and payware airports you threw at it...gone is the hassle of managing all that...and paying for it!  IT just works...outta the box.

And how on earth can any other sim compete with this out of the box? (just a little island hopping and when the sun and clouds are just right....nirvana.

If you've seen some of my posts here....you'll see I've been flying the heck outta the steam-gauge 172....and having a great time.   Now if only I had a good GPS, I'd be split 50/50 on GA and tubes.

Can't wait to see what the future holds...but I can't remember a time when its been better for the simming community!
