Let me tell you how bad optimized is Flight Simulator 2020

Featured Replies

I'm sorry to hear you're having troubles. I'm using 4K, generally 'high' settings (clouds on ultra and terrain LOD turned up) rendering scale 80%. Im generally pretty happy with the performance. Flying the 787 over NYC with AI, weather, road traffic and it's actually quite usable (FPS in mid 20s and smooth enough) is really quite impressive. Get out of a dense metropilit6area, or reduce the amount of glass and yhis thing is really kind of peppy. I can use it now but I'm hopeful that with some optimization of those coherentGTdraw calls and smooth outbthe scenery loads, even the airliners will perform.

I think it is the 8 year old processor. About 40% slower than todays cpus.

First of all, sorry the errors. English is not my native language.

My specs:

I7 3.8GHz, GTX 1070, 16gb ram, SSD

With this specs I can play o DCS and X-Plane 11, both in High Settings with +40 fps. Very fluid on the eyes.

I installed FS2020 and on the first start, it detected that the recommended settings to my system was very high.

I tried and it the stutters started!

After that I tried high, and medium graphics. I tried literally hundreds of "solutions"... from make the FS2020 the secondary window, to limit the FPS, to choose planes with less screens, I desativate v-sync, I ativate V-sync, manual cache, rolling cache, no cache... seriously.. the list of the things I tried has no end.

Today I decided to start from 0, to see what settings I could pull up... so I chose ULTRA LOW settings! With the "resolution scale" to only 20% !!!!!!!

And even with those settings is not playable at all! Not even close, because of the stutters!

I repeat! This was with ultra low settings and resolution scale of 20% !!!! With these settings we only can see the buildings geometries! We only can see cubes etc!... Like a game from the 80´s! Literally!

Even with those settings I still have stutters! I honestly thought  my pc was broken. I tried to play DCS World again, and it runs 5 starts in High definition! Jaw dropping graphics! Very fluid.

How can this be possible?

Seriously, in this point I´m really disappointed from wasting money in a product I can´t even use in ultra low!

I`m even more disappointed with the upgrade notes that basically don´t even mention the stutters!

Microsoft! About the patch notes......"Nobody" has problems  to install the game!!!! The problem is not the installation! The problem are the stutters that everyone talks!

I´m just a guy but I believe this represent many people from the community!

At least, for me and after wasting hard working money, FS2020 is getting dust!

Negative review from a not a satisfied customer!

Your CPU is too slow, sorry. You shouldn't expect, that so modern game will works good with so old hardware.

You are experiencing some problems, not bad optimization.

My system is similar (i7 3770k, 1060 Super, 16 GB RAM, ssd, 1080p) and getting no stutter except once a while when loading new scenery.

My settings defaulted to high. 30ish fps in c172 g1000 over normal areas. Sometimes up to 50. Sometimes down to 20/25 without never feeling any sluggish.

How's your internet connection?

Well let me tell you that I run the sim at 45 FPS 35 over NY/London etc with "High End and Terrain level and Objects level of detail at 200, and a few other setting at Ultra, because after 20 hours flying I have not had 1 CTD and everything is running great. I ask you is the problem with the sim our your end? think about it!

Like I said, I run DCS World and X-Plane 11 filled with Orbx scenery and other add ons,  on Very High settings! I run RFactor 2 in everything on max. Every single simulator (flight or not) I can run fine on high and very high!

Flight Simulator 2020 I can´t run on ULTRA LOW settings without stutters.  Do you think is my fault? 🙄  I think you don´t understand what is like running on Ultra low with 20% resolution scale. Try it! When I said that a sega genesis was capable of running this on this settings... that was not a joke to make everyone laught. It´s that bad! And it still have stutters!

The fault comes from Microsoft and this sim, that is not optimized to some hardware or in general! Maybe they can correct all of this in the future. From now, I can only ask for a refund.

Your post would make sense in high settings, or normal settings with a GTX 970 and 8 gb ram.

Not a I7, GTX 1070 and 16 gb ram in ultra low!

Someone sent me a private patch. I will test it!

Problem solved by a private patch! 😉

Thank you all!

Update ur system to version 2004 and your graphic driver. My performance is really good with 30 hz monitor. With 30 hz monitor, set vsync on and limit fps to 60, not 30. Cpu usage about %40, and gpu usage about %50-60... With high to ultra settings. Very smooth stutter free. My system, İ7 6700k 4.4 ghz, 1080ti, 16 gb Ram, 1 tb hdd, 2k monitor.

Yes I do think the problem is your end. Or everyone here would have the same problem as you would they not?

Look at my PC spec and I run 45 FPS. So like I said the problem is your end.

Thank you but it was solved with a private game patch made by a user on this forum.

Can I share it here publicly or is against this forum terms?
