January 9, 20215 yr Happened again at Gatwick yesterday. 360 dots off. Very strange, never had this before. lastapproach.dat:https://we.tl/t-2g6Mza8uez
January 9, 20215 yr Commercial Member Thanks, this helps. Can you send me your email address (either via PM or by sending me an email) so I can send you a release candidate which I expect to prepare within the next few days. Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
January 9, 20215 yr can confirm this happened certainly more than once. Always around 360 dot deviation.
January 13, 20215 yr It happens to me many time with airbus( both BBS and FSL), I have send a log as well. My guess is that the VOR1 is automaticlly tuned to a different VOR than the ILS, so it confused FM

Have a look at the newsletter for more details! Regards Mark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com

January 21, 20215 yr The new raw data port looks good. But I would like to see a more enlarged "last 100feet" or so part.
January 22, 20215 yr I really love the latest version with all new features etc., it‘s on it’s way becoming my favourite Sim Tool 🙂 A few suggestions I‘d like to make, if I may: - I also find most of the 10 miles to threshold rather unspectacular, the last 500 ft AGL is really where the magic happens and I‘d also like this to be either enhanced or zoomable etc. - It would be nice to have an overall design concept for the data, I don‘t like the combination of text based analysis and data visualisation too much. The first part could also be in some info graphics form, with like scales or bar-indifators with red areas where you can quickly see if and how much you exceeded the limits etc. - The runway info (touchdown point / centerline, distance from aim/th) could also be enhanced and be shown as a (separate) graphic of a rwy with the standard markings for reference. - Could the map style have a choosable default setting? - Could G-Force be added as a touchdown value and maybe as a graph? Thanks! And keep up the good work! Stu

I recall making a similar tool for an FS2004 addon.... (that's the TU-154 which had a sort of a "black box" to record a bunch of parameters). The problem with G force is that the sims readings are all over the place - extremely unreliable. I suspect that not a lot had changed since the hey days of FS2004 in that regard.

I suspect that not a lot had changed since the hey days of FS2004 in that regard. Yeah, judging from other tools that show it, like ProjectFly, STKP and Volanta, it indeed isn‘t very reliable. But maybe there is a way to somehow calculate it separately, taking the data that IS reliable? I don‘t know what the felt G-force is connected to though. I read somewhere that it‘s not only the sink rate on touchdown that defines how it feels in the cabin...
January 29, 20215 yr Commercial Member As you may know, G force is linearly proportional to the acceleration (F=m*a). Acceleration is dv/dt or the change of velocity over time. Now, if you take any rigid body and drop it on a rigid surface, the theoretical G force or acceleration would be unlimited, even if a 1 fpm descent rate (your vertical velocity). So what happens on an aircraft? Well you have oleos on the landing gear which is basically your shock absorber that dampens the acceleration. Your typical passenger sits on top of that absorber - just as all instrumentation so you get a meaningful G after most landings that doesn't dislocate your back. Unfortunately, I don't see a way of getting this compressibility effect from the SDK - all I could do is try and invent something based on vertical speed - not realistic and would be fake, especially considering multiple aircraft types. Of course, if anyone can pinpoint me to a variable that does provide reliable information, I would be happy to add it. Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
March 2, 20215 yr hi marc, with today's update, flight monitor doesn't work correctly anymore. I do get recorded reports in the "approach reports" folder, but they are missing the images/graphs. I can only see the first part and the map, which are recorded correctly though. And I can see the checkboxes for full/final approach. The QRcode/URL only shows a "no data available" site... I also tried re-installing the latest version but that didn't help. Did I miss something? Thanks, Stu EDIT: It sorted itself out. Apparently, unlike the previous version, it doesn't like my test-scenario that begins on final... Edited March 2, 20215 yr by disco79stu
