Here we go:

3070 8Gb starting $499 in Oct.

3080 10GB starting $699 17. sept

3090 24 GB starting $1499 24. sept

I think there is no really a need for the 3090 for people who are flying in 1080p, right? 3080 should run nicely with the MSFS?

I was reading somwhere else that the later version of the 3080 could have 20GB VRAM and this only has 10GB.

Yes.. so should we get the 3080 now or wait? 🙂

I think so, too. It'll also depend on your CPU

No Ray tracing in MSFS2020 so the 3090 may be underutilized?

Waiting for reviewer benchmarks with RT/DLSS Off to get a true measure of performance as MSFS and DCS don't use them.

Also, really hoping for a 3080 Super or 3080Ti with 16-20Gb VRAM.

Yeah, but how long do you want to wait for it? Super or Ti will show off at least in one year.

Could it be huge disadvantage that MSFS doesn't use RT/DLSS? Don't even know what that is.

if you get the 3090 you get 24gb.  it also sounds like these cards do better with VRAM compression.  Meaning they will be able to do more with less vram than previous generations.  What that actually means I don't know.

The interesting thing here is it is showing only a 750W power supply needed.  Rumors were saying 800W.  This is based on a 10900k processor.  Not sure if that contemplates it being a 10900k OC'd.  350W actually used.  So I may return the 1000W GPU I ordered.  I guess I will see what the youtube reviewers like Gamers Nexus and Linus find when they hook it up to the bench.

If the 3070 is actually more powerful than the 2080Ti as Nvidia claim then that would be more than enough for 1080p.

yep more than enough for just 1080P.

If it's going to happen I don't think it'll be a year, I'm thinking when Big Navi drops for 800-1000 (speculation) Nvidia will drop the 3080S /Ti in the 900-1000 range.

Another option is if AIB partners drop a 3080 variant with 16+ Gb Ram.

But, it if takes till Q1-2 of 2021, I can wait. My 1080Ti easily has a year of good juice in it @1440p.

I will wait max until end of November. Sincen I don't have a valid computer right now. It was even hard to wait for the 3080. 3090 will still stay on top, right? Or is there a chance 3080s will be better than 3090?

When you can run the new sim @1440p then I think you wouldn't have any issues with running even 1440p with the 3080.Good to know, in case I upgrade my monitor to 2k.

I only use 1080p or 1440p but I’m gonna go with the 3090,Id rather just bite the bullet price wise and have a card that lasts me 4-5 years like my GTX1080 has. Something to consider is that with addons our vram demands will go way past 8gb probably past 10gb even at lower resolutions. I know in xp11 I have to lower the texture settings at some airports as I run out of vram and I have 8gb

It does also say that two gpu cables are needed. I know my 750w psu only has one cable that’s split on the end to two 6+2 (8) pin for the gpu. No space on the psu to plug another. Means a new psu..... I wonder how many will find themselves in this boat...
