AI aircraft sounds

Has anyone experimented with AI sounds yet?I've just remapped all my FS9 AI traffic to the new FSX AI sounds and it's not bad. I used to use FSHotSeat to get spool up sounds etc, but it seems these are now available within FSX; I'm even getting start up and shutdown sounds. I've substituted some of the default FSX sounds with some others I have from FS9 to make them more realistic i.e. more gritty, as the defualt ones sound a bit like quiet hairdriers.Given this capability I'm really looking forward to the next generation of add-on AI. I think we have a treat in store.

I agree, the new AI sound s great. I use FSHotseat for AI sounds in FS9 but this opens up a whoe new era in AI sound. I found myself sitting at KSEA last night just plane spotting the default aircraft to hear the new sounds. Can't wait to move over my AI to FSX. Speaking of that, is it pretty easy to move them over? Any mods needed? Haven't done a forum search on the subject yet.

>Speaking of that, is it pretty easy>to move them over? Any mods needed? Haven't done a forum>search on the subject yet.I just set up a new folder under Simobjects (I called it AI) and copied all my AI aircraft in there. Then modified my FSX.cfg file so that it had an extra line:SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjectsAIunder MAIN, copied my FS9 flightplans to Scenery>World>Scenery and they all appeared no problem. I say no problem, but since I did that the default FSX AI haven't appeared. Even if I remove the FS9 ones, re-plonk the FSX airplane BGL, they still don't appear. I'm not that worried insomuch that I don't want to see Pacifica airline and the like, but would quite like the GA ones. Maybe my BGL has corrupted... looked on the FSX dvds but no obvious there for re-install. Hopefully someone soon will be able to decompile flightplan BGLs and we can all begin to make our own again.

FSX and FS2004 traffic files are different - the program will not display both at the same time. What's amazing is that they didn't program it to ignore the FS2004 files if FSX files are present.I haven't seen the issue of not being able to get the default AI back.BTW - the AI sound is a fantastic opportunity. It will take a while before the files are all present - but FANTASTIC.

What's amazing is that they>didn't program it to ignore the FS2004 files if FSX files are>present. That's interesting. I've "spoken" to other FSXers who claim they are seeing both. They must be mistaken. The odd thing with my FSX BGL is that when I run it without the FS9 traffic files it shows almost nothing. That's what is odd, it is "almost" nothing. I'll see the odd flight occasionally, that's all. Weird!Do you know if there's a way to recover the original FSX aircraft BGL without re-installing?

I have no idea which CAB holds the original aircraft.bgl on the DVD.Perhaps I need to further define my statement:"FSX traffic files created with TrafficDatabaseBuilder are different from FS2004 traffic files created with TrafficTools and the program will not display both at the same time"People who use MyTrafficX should see both - because MyTraffic does not use TrafficTools - it uses TrafficDatabaseBuilder.I have done several flightplans with TrafficDatabaseBuilder for FSX and those co-exist peacefully with the default file.I am looking for a way to recreate the default GA only traffic in a format compatible with FS2004 TrafficTools flight plans.

Great. If you succeed perhaps you could post the BGL in the AVSIM library? I'm sure many people would love to have that.
