He is wearing a helmet in a later video showing the speed tests.  The last half of that video shows him flying around just having fun.

Speed tests:  he was able to get 50 km/h and declared that the top speed.

Basically a man-carrying drone.  It was impressive.  Looks like a lot of fun, too! 😄

Pretty good value if you ask me. 🙂

I'm moving to the Channel Islands in a few weeks. I'll knock one up in my shed and will be seen swooping down over the ocean, before landing on my patio. 🙂

A man never stops playing with toys. They just get more expensive. 😁

But you must be amazed, or incredulous, at the fact he's flying himself around using a radio control transmitter! :happy:

He must have asked MS to develop the flight dynamics... 😉 (jk!)

Yeah, it was rather interesting. I'm sure the XYL wouldn't let him fly that in the backyard! 😵

This more stable for you? 🙂

Or maybe... They call it a jet, but it's not of course, its lots of ducted fans.

Well of course they are more stable. There is a H U G E difference between one man's $10k home built and likely closer to $1m team effort... 😉
