September 10, 20205 yr So, someone is selling a "manual" for 9 or 10 dollars! LOL. Awesome scam! This topic should be blocked.

The pdf mentioned in the OP is free to download, is limited in scope to basic performance tweaks and we were commenting on it. The PDF itself is a teaser for another guide that someone is selling for 10 bucks. I am not sure where you get the idea it's a scam. Primus made an industry out of publishing "strategy guides" for all sorts of games. It's a practice that dated back to the original Doom. This is no different and I'm wondering why you are so threatened that you can suggest a topic be blocked that you either failed to read the entire thread, or simply misunderstand about the well established and valid practice of publishing strategy guides for major AAA titles.

That will never happen - as long as we have home computers and can tweak stuff! 😀 Tweaking and modding is what makes PC gaming fun, I cant wait to check out cfg files and such like in FSX!
September 10, 20205 yr Author As I stated I went from about 17-19 to 58 fps. As a test late last night, I put MSFS into its full Ultra settings and flew in a heavy scenery area, JFK. I got 40-45 fps. So whatever this guide did to improve performance on my system, it was NOT their suggestions for settings inside the sim that made the biggest difference. It was something set very wrong outside of FS itself that was causing huge mega problem(s). Tone down the settings inside MSFS from everything Ultra, following the guide's settings, and in sparse scenery areas, it goes 56-60 fps. My system (a whole brand new computer commercially built), a lowly Ryzen 5 3600 cpu / 2600 super gpu card, total cost shipped to me under $1200. IBuyPower brand. I had spent hours gleaning suggestions here and there, nothing worked or really helped much at all, until I did this systematic structured approach. Another helpful thing early in the guide is how to fly to a house address without messing with text editing .pln and .flt files (like Squirrel demonstrated in his MSFS Tutorial #5 on Youtube which took a long time as was tricky). All you need to do is grab the (decimal) coordinates for the house off of Google maps and paste them (Control V) into the search bar in the main MSFS screen where you set up flights. MSFS will make the house a waypoint, convert the coordinates properly for you when it generates the .pln and .flt text files when you save the flight plan. A minute instead of 10 minutes. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Rest assured that MS is going to optimize the Xbox Series X version of MSFS to look as good as it possibly can and run as smooth as it possibly can, even if it means reducing draw distances, using compressed textures or any other myriad of tricks available. Will it look as good as a PC three times the cost? Probably not. Nor should it be expected to.

Enjoy! PS: use at your own risk, I don't know whether this is also affecting thermal throttling.
