TBM 930 IFR Flight - Visuals On A Crappy PC

Recommended Posts

Here is a set of screenshots that shows visuals on a 5 year old PC - i5 6600, 8 gigs of ram, 4 gig AMD video card, etc. etc.

I fly from not so dense areas into not so dense airports, this way I get flyable frame rates (around 18-20 fps).

Flight was IFR from Nice LFMN to Heringsdorf EDAH; ILS RW 28. The plane flew the approach flawlessly, ATC even gave me the correct altitudes, and the TBM slid down the glideslope like a Stripper on a greasy pole.

No editing, sharpening, etc. was done to the pics.

I get similar results on my 3 year old laptop. It all comes down to expectations and perspective.

Like you I fly in less congested areas and mainly in the props and get 23-30 FPS which as you say is flyable.

Its the, “I want it sharp all the way to the horizon at 4K and 60 FPS no matter what” crowd that have an issue.

And when you gently suggest to the 4k crowd to turn settings down a notch, they basically want to send murderous assassins to your house. ha ha.
