September 11, 20205 yr MSFS lighting might be slightly too bright, but the colours aren't wrong. Here's a real life takeoff from Zurich. The headlights of the cars on the highway are bright white whereas the highway lighting is yellowy orange... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9kbfsL4kZc Still Shawn has posted up some lovely shots. They use orange lights as they are better in fog, but we have everything from blue/white tinged to yellow/orange. I could not see any highways in that movie, anyway it looks like people love overdone effects, I just think they are too gamish and XP11 captures nightlife much better, not to mention the emissive light from ground texture at night, not really what I see on my night flights. I was pointing out the roads close to the airport where one can clearly see vehicles travelling on them shortly after the plane takes off. If not, then my apologies. Anyway, I believe that there will always be some subjective differences of opinion as long as there are people to debate the point with - we're all similar , but quite different individuals after all. 🍻 Speaking of subjectivity - it has been many years since I was fortunate enough to be an airline passenger, much less be in a private plane on a night flight, and my memory isn't photographic. If some kind soul could endeavour to take me aloft for a night flight over Europe (purely as no-fee, self-adjusting ballast of course!) the I could refresh the visuals!
