LatinVFR Miami/Ft Lauderdale and Orbx TE Florida...?

Recommended Posts

Are any of you running both Latin VFR Fort Lauderdale and Miami Regions with Orbx TE?

I know that the LVFR Scenery only extends out so far for both areas and doesn't apparently incorporate all of Dade and Broward Counties...

Would you place the LVFR Scenery over Orbx TE or vice versa?

Which one has better Vector data and Scenery?

How would you all recommend using both?

Thanks!

I have basically every airline airport in Florida and recently bought TE.  I would recommend you put the individual airport sceneries above true earth.  I did it for every one.

When you install TE US Florida from ORBX Central, it would add the entry for the TE files (including its Libraries) at the correct place, but it's also important that your insertion points have been properly placed in ORBX Central - Settings.

Thanks.

Once installed ensure that all the payware airports are above TE-FL entries in the scenery library.

Delete or .off all bgls from TE-FL that pertain to your payware airports. Just do a search in the ORBX folder (KMIA) and turn of the few .bgl files.

The Autogen folder includes descriptions that affect the AG in TE-FL. Be sure to back up that folder, just in case. There are some sceneries that will knock out your AG. You will see less trees, poles, etc.

Lastly, disable Photo & City from Latin VFR KMIA & KFLL.

OK Got it...

Are you saying that the Photo and Scenery Data from Latin VFR is less detailed or accurate than ORBX TE Florida for the areas surrounding KFLL and KMIA?

KFLL Scenery includes the new Hard Rock Casino and guitar shaped hotel, for instance, as a popular landmark when I'm not sure OBRX TE FL would have this much detail.

Thanks!

It doesn't affect the hard rock cafe.

You don't need the city & photo from LVFR airports. Just access the config tools and disable them.

Of course. First make sure the insertion point of your ORBX scenery is properly set in ORBX Central (look at the manuals on how to set it)). Then, after installing TE US Florida vía ORBX Central simply let it do its work, no need to adjust manually anything.

As much as I love this addon. I’m finding performance is not the best. Even with a good system and locking to 30. Just did a night arrival into tampa. And CPu almost was spiked
