Sensitivity settings gone for controllers

Recommended Posts

No way to adjust sensitivity now, just a blank box that says done.

On the plus side, it seems to at least have left the settings where I had them and didn't reset to default.  Everything feels the same as before.

Same here, not good.  I'd feel bad for anyone buying the sim today and having to deal with that stock twitchiness.

Did you exit the simulator after the update, reboot system, and then start simulator following those steps?  I continued from the update directly into the sim and all of my Community folder liveries failed to show up.  Checked the folder structure in Windows and found they were still there, OK.  Exited the sim. Rebooted. Started the sim.  Then they were there.

My G1000's were only partly operational.  I also removed the aircraft and avionics mods I had in the Community folder and rebooted.  Fine after that.

Developer is aware of issue.

Yep, huge discussion on the MSFS Community Forum. Folks are not pleased and rightly so.  The real issue now seems that MS will not commit to a hot fix which implies living with it until next patch sometime in Oct.

also patch is mandatory and can’t be deferred which while understandable (cloud server / desktop client sync) is yet another reason folks aren’t happy.

a true catch 22 right now

I planned to change my rudder sensitivity today, but unfortunately I updated the game first 😒

Anyone know where controller settings are stored?  If it's in a text/xml file we might be able to adjust sensitivities manually until the developer gets around to fixing this.

I’ve been trying to find that for a couple weeks. I suspect custom bindings might be stored on their servers instead.

It appears that FSUIPC7 beta is working w/r/t control settings without the random client disconnect issues it was having.

That presents an alternative to the now-missing in-sim sensitivity settings.

I think I recall seeing an xml file for control setups. Not that I wish anyone to make things worse but I wonder if you can adjust control sensitivities via this or similar files. Cannot know for certain as still downloading from scratch.

The only ones I've seen are the ones for the default bindings.   I couldn't find the ones that would hold my custom bindings anywhere.  I have the Steam version with packages installed to a custom folder and I've looked in the Steamapps folder with the main msfs executable, the packages folder, programdata, and appdata folder locations and nowhere could I find any custom controller binding configs.  Just the user options file for graphics etc. settings.

I've been looking for this also. I see the default files, but those make no difference for me. Have you found the custom files yet?

Edit: I found them. Not in a place you would consider. It's: \Steam\userdata\(your Steam IDnumber)\1250410\remote

And in there you will see files called "inputprofilexxxxxx" with the x's being numbers. Those are your custom saved controller configs.
