Microsoft releases patch for WMF flaw

(CNN) -- Microsoft has released a patch for a vulnerability in some Windows graphics files. For more than a week, criminal hackers have been exploiting the flaw in Windows Meta File, or WMF.There is a link to the fix on the Microsoft home page. The "Security Update for WMF Vulnerability" shows users how to download and install the patch, which should protect Windows users from being infected with the malicious code.Better to get it from the normal Windows Update page.http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/...t.aspx?ln=en-us

Windows autoupdate ran overnight (European time), so if you have that connected it should have pushed the update to your system automatically by now.

Some, like myself, don't use autoupdate.

Just giving a headsup for people who wonder why their PC rebooted overnight :)

Never had a problem with autoupdate myself, personally I'd rather get the fix for the security flaw ASAP...

Since there have been problems with some patches in the past, I prefer to let others "beta test" the patches for me, and see what possible problems may occur with them before I install them. I made an exception with this latest one though and installed it right away. My surfing and downloading habits make an immediate install of most patches unnecessary.
