Exclude the flightsimulator.exe from Anti-Virus?

Anti-virus programs do more harm than good. Especially 3rd party ones. If you must use one, the default Windows Defender is the better solution.

This is both silly, dangerous and disingenuous.  Do so at your peril.

No it's more like the opposite. Do some research on it.

Windows Defender does not seem to be troubled by the invisibility of flightsimulator.exe.
I have used it without the slightest problem for years and see no reason to change that practice.

In truth, hackers are not looking for home based PCs, when for the same amount of effort, they can hold a multi-national company to ransom.
I see the home user at far more danger from inviting viruses and malware onto their PC by visiting unsuitable website and clicking on links either there, or in unsolicited e mails. A simple practice of "don't do it" will be far more effective than any added anti-virus software.

Of course, if you also use your "flying" PC for highly sensitive government or company business, you might need another layer of protection but then the question arises, if you are that important, should you be using your work computer to play games?
