Live Weather

Is this feature working? It seems to be hit and miss.

Of coarse it's hit or miss just like the weather man on my local station.

Maybe I should have said INOP. I hope that AS is able to offer a working weather engine, because so far the ASOBO version is a disaster.

For me live weather is working flawlessly as long as I don't switch to a weather preset. Switching back to real weather is hit and miss, even on the next flight. Launch your sim, set real weather, and it'll work fine for the remainder of the session. I also use Meteoblues WX map to plan ahead, it's the same data as in MSFS planning screen.

Why a disaster? Works fine for me. And even if the weather is not 100% accurate, I'd still not use the word "disaster".

Now that the winds aloft are working, I find that it closely matches the real weather, wind direction, speed, cloud formation and barometer readings, at least in the northern central USA where I am currently flying.

It was completely hosed prior to patch 2.  I check the temp, dew point, and barometer versus my own professional weather instrument at home and compare the values, and generally speaking it has been close.

unlike FSX there isn’t some crude weather injection every 15 minutes that induces a reality shattering stutter for 10 seconds in the middle of a landing to deal with either.

THANK YOU! This is the tip I was looking for.

My apologies to those who get offended. But, I'm used to AS and it simply always works.

Each time I start the sim, the default weather is set to a preset. Does anyone know how can I have Live Weather as the default setting each time I open the sim?

Each time I start the sim, I get the settings (plane, traffic, weather) that I had when I shut it down.

Do you shut down the sim the "official" way? It's a bit tedious, I know...

Yeah we need an official RAGE QUIT button in the quick menu...

One of the presets is “Live Weather”. If you select that one, live weather should then be the default the next time you run the sim.
