Make my sim look great!

Recommended Posts

Ok, I made a bit of a jest post over at msfs forums, but I am a long time simmer (25+) years, and I have been using p3d for the last - I dunno - 7 years or so? In any case, I would like some help to get my p3d v5 looking as good as it can (but must also be stable)!

This is how it looks right now:

I have orbx global basepack and activesky at the moment. What else do I need to make it look GEEWD?

Too bad there are no shader adjustment softwares for V5. One of the reasons I am still using 4.5 is Prepar3d Tweak Assistant.

With PTA, I can get more "real world" atmospheric lighting and shadow.

Mind you, TE won't make the sim look better, they will make particular areas look better AND they will take a massive amount of disk space (and other resources large ortho scenery would consume).

If your visits to Holland (or other TE regions) are infrequent and are mostly IFR/tubeliners then  the value of investing in TE may be questionable

The TE series connect very well to the Global Basepack.
Myself I only fly in Europe + Northern Aftrica and I have everything PR.

Thanks on the heads up for the Tera Flora 2 Nyxx. Installed today and looks way better by far. I just need the extra Vram. I have my P3Dv5 HF2 looking nice and running smooth with alot of Orbx etc... but when i use the EA, Long flights gives the dreaded "Devise Hung" error. With out the EA it has plenty of head room....

Hopefully a 30 series in my future when there back in stock with the higher capacity Vram.

Try EA at medium setting. High or Maximum will add 1-2GB consumption on your VRAM.

There also some airports with 4k and PBR textures that consume a lot of VRAM (latinVFR and flytampa Las Vegas for example).

Thanks for that, I just checked it and it was on high. Will Test with the medium setting tomorrow.

Talking of TrueEarth Netherlands, is there a decent version of EHRD Rotterdam available for P3Dv4 that is compatible with this?
