Pretty ingenious, but it seems like a lot of effort just to gain a basic joystick and throttle control that you could probably find for 20 quid. And of course it isn't HOTAS either, since there are no additional controls on the throttle handle or the joystick handle.

Still, I think the design aspect of it is pretty clever and if it could be banged out as a kit for a tenner, I bet you'd sell a ton of them.

Back in NINETEEN-DIGGETY-DOO I made a rudder pedal in the machine shop I worked in after hours that actuated a cheap joystick at the time for probably FS5.1 or FS95.... Anyhow it worked great at the time when a rudder pedal was a thing of dreams.

I also remember back in NINETEEN-EIGHTY-FRIGGEN-GOO when the advise from the joysticks from that era was to loosen springs, because aircraft controls were fluid and the springs where unrealistic due to the strength of the springs which were designed for video games of the time.

So Basically we as a hobby have been hacking things since NINETEEN-SEVENTY-BLUE 😆

Whilst Chock is right in that you can probably get a reasonable joystick & throttle for 20 quid, there is no denying that the 3d printed accessory not only works but is cool as chuff, at least to my inner nerd!

The 3D print technology...

Its part of everyday life now, and we don't even think of the implications, and how many people can do things like this and more in their homes now, with very little equipment, and not necessarily even skill on their part if they are simply recreating an existing design.....

There are 3D printed houses out there..

Before I click it, I thought it was the reverse...Strap a controller pad on top of a joystick which come with too less button (namly T16000M).

I have seen someone done that (I believe it's a PS2 control pad), although I can't find the pictures now....

Ha!. Now let's see them do the rudder pedals.

I know. I've wanted to try some forever. First step to Star Trek replicators.

Okay, I definitely draw the line at insects being reprocessed into food! Yuck!

But of course, we unknowingly eat insects all of the time. Its all mental.

That being said, as somebody with a mission to try one new thing every day, I brought a cricket lollipop from the Museum of Natural history in New York once, and was never able to make myself eat it.

I'm older and a bit braver now, so if I got one today, I would likely try it immediately.

By the way, for somebody actually into do-it-yourself for this sort of stuff & 3D printing, there are actually plenty of projects shared on Thingverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/tag:hotas

That is true. If they could somehow reprocess roaches to print ribeye steaks with the sizzle, flavor and aroma of the real deal, no one need ever go hungry.

OTOH, this could also be viewed as a precursor to "Solyent Green"

True - with roaches there's pretty much an infinite supply of the critters!
