New Build for MSFS

Recommended Posts

Summer almost finished and flight simming season begin.

I consider the following build for MSFS. I Keep my existing RTX2080 :

- I9-10900K

- Corsair Hydro Series H100i PRO, 240 mm Radiator.

- Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Elite AC

- Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB DDR4

- Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 G (Window 10) and 1 Tera (MSFS, P3D)

- Fractal Design Define C Case

- EVGA 850 B5 850 W Bronze

Any though about how to optimize this selection ?

Looks like a great build. My recent build specs are in my message footer below...  Take a look at the power supply.  I switched to the one in my specs based on a recommendation my a build consultant at my Microcenter store.  Recommendation was based on performance and low decibel level.  That was a change in my choices and he also recommended the H110i cooler based on performance and decibels.  I am gloriously pleased and often have checked to make sure my system components, especially the cooler, are actually working.  System is honestly that quiet.  I am doing no OC at this time.

I think a 240mm AIO on a 10-core CPU is underspec...I'd recommend the H115i (2x140mm) or better, the H150i (3x120mm) if it'll fit in the case.

You well may find an overclocked 10900K is temp-limited with a 240mm radiator.  My reference point is the H100i I'm running on a quad-core 7700K here--I can push that up to where the AIO can't keep up.  I wouldn't even consider trying with a 10 core processor unless you're not planning much of an overclock.

The overclocked 10900k will not necessarily be limited by the 240mm cooler, but instead by its design and IHS.  These cpus are so "dense" that they cannot get the heat from the die to the waterblock fast enough without direct die cooling when overclocked.  See my video regarding this on my youtube channel below.  I have recently added liquid metal to my direct die 10900k and the results are incredible compared to the stock IHS.  Also, the best AIO cooler right now is the arctic cooling liquid freezer, if you dont care about not having rgb its the best aside from a  custom loop.

I have that AIO myself and it's great. Just worth pointing out that anybody thinking to buy it should check the headroom in their case as you need 65mm clearance. Not every case has that much.

Just to add from above my PC arrived yesterday but still not set it up yep ( tomorrow ). in by sig below.

My PC is a 10900k OC to 4.9 on all cores with also HT on. I was told you need a 360 cooler and I went for a Corsair H150i Pro XT 360mm  and they thought that was a perfect chose for the job.

The reviews I have watch back that up also.
