Did everyone notice there is a fix?

BIG NEWS:

saw this from 2 different posters buried in other threads.  But you can fix the avionics/autopilot bug by going to options, then graphics then turn generic to on for both settings.  Do this and things are back to normal I can  ow enjoy my Carenado Mooney with the GPS working the whole flight.

Not BIG NEWS, because this "fix" has been posted in this forum in multiple threads, and it's also not a fix for many that have had the bugs. Additionally there are many avionics and autopilot issues, so saying "avionics/autopilot bug" fix is a bit of a generalization to say the least.

Don't do this in flight I guess, because I tried it and nothing changed, I also got an overstress a few seconds later.

There is no reason why switching this on in flight should have an effect on your own aircraft, so that overstress might indicate there really is a bug where AI could affect a player's aircraft.

Completely pointless clickbait title. And nobody even bothers explaining what we are fixing. Could someone please share these minor details?

It is an annoying and unhelpful clickbait-like title, but I don't think it was posted in that spirit, probably in a moment of excitement.

Hi. I have switched  the above Generic Plane Models both to on, as did a friend of mine. And as stated the Autopilot now works for both of us. However my C172 G1000 has a black screen MDF ie No map and No engine gauges ( The PDF is good ) where as my friends Glass cockpit is working fine. Any ideas why I'm having this problem. Thanks Paul

Thanks for your reply. If your talking about the bank of dimming dials, bottom left, I have tried that to no avail. Otherwise I don't know of any other switches. Many thanks Paul

These options have always been on for me, but I have experience this bug twice so far.

Mine have both been on since day 1 and I have also autopilot issues. IMHO I  believe the autopilot issues are caused when you try and make changes to autopilot during the flight.

Problem solved. I was looking at my Community folder and noticed a 3rd party utility to dim the interior lights. I downloaded it because I thought the G1000 was too bright. Now I have deleted it, all is well again. I am now getting what everyone else is with the fix .

Did you mean autopilot?  Or perhaps instead mean flight plan...

Both generic aircraft settings were turned on from day 1. I also had autopilot issues even with both generic models turned on. I believe my autopilot, loss of control issues, were related to me making changes to the autopilot settings during flight. Perhaps I am not clear on my statement or I have misunderstood the OP suggestion to turn ON generic for AI aircraft.

I am still occasionally seeing the autopilot initiating a spiral dive (without me doing anything to trigger it).

I believe Otto is trying to kill me...  Why, I do not know..
