Not overally surprised or concerned. With Aerosoft CRJ coming out in the next few months and 1000 add-on developers signing up there should be plenty of mid range airliners to keep us busy in the coming months.

For you perhaps. Not for me. I only fly IFR and thats in the A320 mod in MSFS.

The Aerosoft CRJ isn't that popular in P3D unless your a CRJ fan. Will moving it to 2020 make it more popular or just a reason to fly to larger airports? AT/Magenta pilots have a hard time with the CRJ.

LOL those are rules you fly by not a definition of sim. To fly IFR you don't need PMDG. I hope it is clear for you 🙂

That`s good news for the bad news.

It`s really good that PMDG makes official statements about their work in progress. After all only experts like PMDG can make FS what it should have been. So thanks for that.

 

But, this statement is not very good:

"we still remain convinced that MSFS will be the long-term best-platform for simming over the next decade"

This is a polite way of saying LR and Lockheed are bad. He forgets that X-Plane and P3D have a stable and solid base, but FS don`t. They are actually independent developers, a best doesn`t exist in neutrality, when progress of all platforms is expected. Anyway, I don`t care for that, I think PMDG will get a lot of entertainment crunching a PMDG plane in FS.

Late 2021, that is a very long time, but actually was expected. The wait is not really worth it.

 

I am so glad that Laminar Research and Lockheed exists. The anouncement videos of FS were in the end nothing but a fallen sack of rice.

Not surprised, I have to admit.

I made a flight in 'the queen' last night. At first, I was thinking "I just load a flight plan, push back and start the engines." Next, "I'll just fly the departure." Finally, I'm on final approach and thinking I'll just land. You get the idea. What a wonderful product.

What struck me is just how much work lay ahead for folks like PMDG. Look at all the systems involved in the queen they've perfected over the years. The FMC alone is massive. I imagine there's a tonne of stuff under the hood that remains to be implemented in MFS aka SKD work. 

I hope I live long enough to see the 737 ngx in MFS.

If you garner nothing else from this forum except on how the way folks respond to news of any kind here, you have all the content you need to conduct a full, University-level (or is that "study level? 😆) the ultimate experiment in sociology on this planet...or is that "plant"...according to @bean_sprout?

(See what I did Beenie?.....injected a modification to the experiment so my students could observe...lets see how you take my comment on your speeling error... as a good-natured ribbing, or a serious dig at your lack of spealing skiils). 🙂

As a hobbyist in the study of human nature...I could spend all day absorbing all the idiosyncrasies of humans when they interact in forums. 🙂  A veritable Smörgåsbord of human behavior!
