September 29, 20205 yr Author I’m still below ground in the Salt Mines, and reading the patch release frenzy with a smile. Provided the Canary doesn’t topple on her perch, I plan on installing and flying tonight. Looks like the lads at Asobo are reading this forum and taking notes- BZ! C Best- Carl Avari-Cooper
September 29, 20205 yr This sim is a master piece. And sorry to say but the majority of issues the hardcore community sees are totally ignored by the majority of players out there. The good thing is that Asobo wants to please also the hardcore community so the patches will come to fix all the problems reported. It will just take time.
September 30, 20205 yr Author I was able to load the update without issue. I did first copy off my Community folder, and emptied it. Then I rebooted the computer after each update- first the MS Store, then the Update and then the Japan Update. I did note initially performance was slightly stuttery, however, once everything settled I was very content with the trip around Mt. Fuji I took with @Steve Dra this evening. We had some small issues with the servers showing our aircraft and Gamertags this evening, but today was probably a day they all got hammered hard. The tall building issue needs prompt attention. As for the rest, the Sim for me remains eminently fly able and enjoyable. I look forward to the days, weeks and months to come as the sim continues to evolve. I keep hoping that we as a community can read through the chaff, and concentrate on what we have received in the few weeks we have had this sim at our disposable. The vocally disappointed do have a point in that the sim is a commercial product that was over promised and under delivered. I hope that as it matures it will eventually deliver comprehensively on its promises. What I have seen and EXPERIENCED leads me to believe that there is real potential to do so. For those disappointed in the “new” bugs that these patches produce- I understand that viewpoint. Asobo is rocking our world and perhaps at some point they may want to pause and work on cleaning up current lists. That however is very hard to do when many are waiting for complex aircraft and clamoring for items that are individually important. Growth is demanded and it is hard to expand as rapidly as we ask for, and still deliver a completely error free product across a billion different hardware combinations. At the end of the day, I do not want to be an apologist for Asobo, only to urge civility and patience whilst continuing to hold their feet to the fire.We are moving in the right direction and I remain optimistic. Despite any minor issues we had...we managed to stare in amazement how beautiful this new scenery is. Sadly, shortly after this pic we lost connection with each other....the game said we were in a group...but we could not see each other....did not stop me from snapping a few pics of Mt Fuji....it was stunning When we got back to RJTT, and about a few feet from each other...we appeared....odd. But a great flight nonetheless! Thanks again Carl for a wonderful flight experience! September 30, 20205 yr Author @Steve Dra Enjoyed it Steve, thanks. I look forward to this Sim’s maturation and growth. I do hope that Asobo fix the LOD and Autogen /buildings issues ASAP. Patch 2 seemed to have a great blend of both. Tokyo was stunning, but a wee bit of the blurries have crept in. The sheer amount of humanity was well represented and I hope to explore the remainder on the island soon. If that detail really represents what the entire globe will eventually look like- fantastic. Despite some of the rhetoric here, I am enjoying the experience and look for it to continuously improve over the next several months. Perhaps as suggested to Rick, “We should round up the usual suspects?” If Asobo/Microsoft have anything to prove, it’s steadfast dedication to the product. If they PERSEVERE, they will succeed. The dilemma for Asobo will be staving off the bean counters... C PS- it would be great to get some clear direction from Asobo re. the Community folder. Obviously if there’s a patch that will need tucking away, but for the rest (sceneries etc.) they ought to be able to stay? Here is where ORGANIZED FOLDER STRUCTURE (patches, utilities, scenery/POI, airports etc.) would be VERY welcome...Asobo, are you listening? @asobo Edited September 30, 20205 yr by cavaricooper Best- Carl Avari-Cooper
