They're investigating issues with anti-aliasing and draw distance right now. They're also looking at expanding the available LOD radius.

That would be awesome.  I would love to see Devil's Tower, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley and Yosemite in their high resolution (DEM) glory.

ROY: It's no good. When you get to the top, it's a 300-foot drop straight down. Get down!

LARRY: What's it like on the other side?

ROY: It's a box canyon on the other side with ravines and trails. Take this gradual incline to the right.

JILLIAN: I never imaged that. In my painting I only painted one side.

LARRY: There was no canyon in the doodles I made.

ROY: Next time, try sculpturing.

Regarding draw distance: Nothing has changed but doesn't mean there couldn't be a possible bug and they are investigating. They are actually looking at expanding the draw distance further since they found it doesn't have much impact on performance

You know what this was a good session they just need time . this people are looking to make a good experience for us lts just alot to fix . I got a pretty good idea/Vibe of what their plans are and feel even more positive as of Today .

No, this is the first time they mentioned this.

This was a good Q&A....would certainly love to see these on a regular basis.  Sounds like the updates have been rushed causing many of the bugs we are seeing especially after this last patch....

Good Q&A in general, though I'm really bummed that they misunderstood / misinterpreted our request for a scenery (airport) gateway system, as well as my question on accurate taxiway names and airport updates. Yes, they have a team going through airports, but that's ineffective and not scalable. We just need (1) the ability to edit / modify default airports, and (2) the ability to upload them to the sim so that everyone can have the correct scenery layouts. Hopefully they see this soon enough. Inaccurate taxiway names and signs are probably my biggest issues with the sim right now.

What was he talking about MSFT China working on in terms of ATC phonetic improvements? I didn't catch that entirely.

Since we have the top two guys talking, it was announced as the next region to be released. Also added that the DEM would be of very high quality.

In case no ones mentioned it to you yet that was the last thing Sebastian adressed.

He said they DIDN'T reduce anything on the draw distance. They are in fact working on expanding the LOD that you see on higher altitutes because that comes at next to no data or performance cost.

They are seeing the reports, they are noticing that something is going on in those screenshots and they look into what could be the cause. But they didn't purposefully reduce the LOD of anything. So it must be some sort of unexpected bug.

Night lighting on terrain was explained very well along with the fix. LOD being looked at as well as being increased. Good stuff.
