zoom in/out (increase/decrease selection)

is it only on my box or does popping up the atc window (and perhaps exchanging a couple of lines with the friendly synthesizer) really kill the increase/decrease functionality for the rest of the flight?

No, it's only that you have changed the `focus` to the new window. Just use whatever returns the focus to the main view or control and you are right back where you need to be - view zoom for example, just press the Back Shift key then the `+` and `-` keys will regain their zoom function.Allcott
