October 1, 20205 yr I am doing a range test to see how long each leg on my around the world flight in the Baron will be and should be right now I'm looking at 1,000NM legs looking at the winds will determine my cruise altitude

Even in economy cruise? I have found in my sim flying experience over the years that econ cruise can work well with even light tail winds, and even with light quartering tailwinds. But change that to even light headwinds or light quartering headwinds, that distance better optimizes at standard cruise settings. It does vary of course by aircraft, altitude, and OAT. October 1, 20205 yr I highly recommend these porta-potty bags. You are being realistic and real-time about stick time, right? October 1, 20205 yr A G58 w/ 166 gallons useable would have about 1,100 mile range - 166 gallons/28gph*185 knots true = 1,096. Or 194 gallons can give the plane another 200 nautical miles added to the range.
October 1, 20205 yr Author Right now I should land with 58 gallons of fuel according to the Baron performance app 23/23 ROP. I have decided to go back to 25/25 ROP power setting Edited October 1, 20205 yr by awash2002

Use that also with the Milviz 310R. Did not realize the G58 had that kind of range. The B55 only ranges out to about 800 nm. considering reserve. October 1, 20205 yr I learned yesterday that the sim does model unuseable fuel, but doesn't show it in the UI. For example, the G36 shows in the fuel load UI as having 80 gallons, but only 74 are useable. This is correct behavior to real world, but nothing in-sim indicates this is the case (well, until the propeller stops turning with 6 gallons left!). Don't forget to take this into account with your range math. Maybe fly around KEDW in circles and see where it actually quits just to make sure 😉 I guess this goes back to me general comment that the sim should come with some centralized documentation people can refer to.... October 1, 20205 yr Author Right now I'm doing a range test to get a idea how long the legs need to be. Fppilot I'm going to try that 25/24 power setting I've been wanting to try other power settings other then the 25/25 or 23/23 so 25/24 should work fine for me Edited October 1, 20205 yr by awash2002
October 2, 20205 yr Author I was on a range test I hit v for vfr map and the sim crashed to desktop. FpPilot 25/24 gave me a TAS of 186 knots in the Baron would that setting also work in the G36 Bonanza as well and if so what TAS would I see? Edited October 2, 20205 yr by awash2002
October 2, 20205 yr To extend your flight time you could use that : https://www.turtlepac.com/products/collapsible-jerry-can-fuel-tanks/ During the flight you just need to remove weight from the back seat and add it to your fuel tank. It's used IRL to cross great distance and avoid to disassemble and reassemble the plane.
