I own the MCP1 and just installed FSUIPC7 so that it will work with MSFS2020,

The MCP can display the current information (SPD/HDG/ALT) or the autopilot information. You need to assign VRI_DSP_MODE_toggle() function (from VRI library) to switch between these modes.

Identify a spare button (on MCP or joystick) then assign a function as normal. You do this by clicking on the 'empty' caption beside the button (on MCP Combo or Joystick page). Look for LIB: VRInsight and click on it followed by the VRI Display mode switching and select VRI DSP MODE Toggle.

If as you say the MCP is not responding to LINDA, ensure that you have the correct MCP setup. Settings/ Enabled/ Type = MCP(original)/ COM Port set correctly and Save. All make sure that the fsuipc4.ini is showing found, ok. Click on Make Changes for you? if required.

Do you have the correct drivers installed for the Serial to USB connector? Has the MCP ever worked with LINDA and previous Flt Sims?

The VRSIM.exe is the best test that the MCP is correctly working and what COMPORT it is attached to. If it cannot see the MPC then FSUIPC4 and LINDA won't.

vrisim recognizes the MCP and I changed the COM PORT based on the VRISIM and the display toggle and still nothing... seems as if LINDA doesn't input the MCP at all....

Then I must ask you to read and follow the Fault Diagnosis Procedure (under LINDA Support) and email me the logs. Open the LINDA Console and ensure Log VRi Events is ticked. This will allow me to see what is happening.

Hi ScotFlieger

thanks for your awesome guide to get these panels working. I’ve followed your instructions, and I’ve seemed to get some things working, however the CMDA / LNAV/ VNAV etc. on the MCP buttons aren’t working at the moment. Is this normal?

also, is there a way to get the COM radio panel to alter VHF frequencies?

thanks a mil
