Let's figure out why some people have trouble with MSFS...

Hello all,

Page 6 and I am still waiting for the people with problems to display their system and/or Event Viewer or .cfg. All I am seeing is a repetition of things that are going wrong.

Are we not getting the message across that we want to help but we do need this information for some comparisons and fault finding. Another aspect of doing this, is that, if that information is in the public eye (this forum) it may give Asobo software engineers some insight as well.

I just proved yesterday with the help of other simmers that some world areas are simply bugged and causing freezes for no apparent reason.

I never had a CTD since day one.  For the most part, I just putz around my home area in the midwest.  I fly the C172, C152, C208 and TBM on and off.  Then, I decided to head out to KLAX and fly to KLAS  in the C208 just for the heck of it.  I just lifted off the runway after a fairly long taxi and....CTD!  First ever.  And I have about 200 hours flying total.

I remembered reading that ground AI traffic might be causing the avionics issue too.  I had recently turned ON airport AI traffic as I usually run off.  So after the crash, I turned all AI off.  Went back to KLAX this time in the TBM and had an uneventful flight until I overstressed the TBM in descent to KLAS and disintegrated in the air. 🤥

In my case it was a busy airport with lots of AI traffic that "seemed" to possibly be the issue. Might be something to track when getting a CTD.

My terrain goes slightly blocky, suddenly into a poorer resolution state at FL180...  Is this normal and what other people are seeing?  It's only been doing it since the latest patch.

Langeveldt,

This is not something I am finding.  Can you possibly post some further details please. Aircraft, route, computer specs, and event viewer display of any errors, although I strongly suspect that may show nothing.

Thanks mate.

You guys saying you have zero issues, I'm assuming this doesn't include all the actual bugs in MSFS that have been confirmed by Asobo itself? Otherwise you're saying the sim is perfect (it isn't) and every problem is the user's fault (also false).

Apart from the known bugs that everyone has, I have zero issues.

Likewise, zero issues except the known issues.  The one issue called the “10 degree heading bug” is actually now questionable to me as I greatly prefer the heading bug to move at 10 degrees, then fine tune by clicking on either side of the knob to fine tune by 1 degree.

I would add that I built the PC (Specs below in signature) for flight sim, and only flight sim, and do not use mods of any kind whatsoever, not even a livery to be certain that I do not introduce other variables.

Likewise the pc os and all system and hardware drivers stay current.

Edit - I also wanted to say that I am thankful for the vfr map ctd issue, because it forced me to better learn the functions of the g1000 pfd/mfd/gns systems to better function as a pilot.  I won’t be using the vfr map after it is fixed.
