Any "little" news on P3dV5 update?

Recommended Posts

Looking for a "little" news on possible update coming for P3dv5.  Does anyone have any insider information or clue if something is coming soon.  Enhanced Atmospherics is one area that could really use some help.

Based on past release timelines, I'm betting it comes out this month.

I sincerely hope you win! Out of curiosity just how much did you bet?

I fired it up last night and am glad to be using it again.  I hope they get the lighting adjusted some and EA, otherwise, it is a great program. Hope for the update at some point soon.

Version X.1 release always was about 3-5 months later.

So just keep in mind we had two hotfixes already, but I would still guess it will be released this month 😎🤞

I am also hoping for an update "very near". And I do also hope they do something about the visuals....

PBR/Terrain visuals fix

EA Sky coloring dawn/dusk

Remove the implemented "FLAT looking Cloud layer rising up to the horizon

Sun/Sun reflection fix (Sun-Offest to it´s own reflection)

Improvement VRAM

Performance improvement

....etc.

Marcus

I guess it's really close considering the latest news on the HiFi-Website

ASP3D OPEN BETA signups and the free upgrade from ASP4 is still available, but will end on October 10, 2020 – If you’d like to participate in the OPEN BETA and receive a free upgrade, you must register for an account before the end of October 10, 2020 GMT.

Maybe we finally know more by next week, but why else should they end beta sign-ups for ASP3D if 5.1 isn't near? 😉

It makes sense that HiFi might have been testing internally a new beta of AS paired with the closed beta of P3d 5.1. Given all the issues with live weather in MSFS, if trueSky has been substantially upgraded in P3d 5.1, it might be enough to draw users back to P3d5. If not, it might be the end of the road for further enhancements to AS for P3d5.  I'd say that either situation is equally possible.

When I click on your link there is no form to fill out. Can you give a link to that? Thanks.

Ok found it.

If 5.1 improves TrueSky enough then I'll finally buy P3Dv5. I just need something to prop myself up until NG3. I open v4 and just go sorta meh but still enjoy Vatsim.

Aaaand... another week is passing.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so impatiently awaiting an update before. Wish there was any indication. I’m really rooting for P3D.

+1. 6 months today... would have expected .1 to be announced by now. Its the 1 thing I applaud MS for because at least they are communicating with their customers, LM are preferring to remain in the dark age with the wall of silence

I understand why LM prefer not to give specific release dates, but a similar method to Orbx's "Introducing..." previews would be a whole lot better than LM's radio silence right up until the moment of release.
At least when third party developers say "coming soon", we know to expect a release in the coming month or usually sooner.

With LM, will we be waiting hours, days, weeks or even months from now for v5.1 to arrive?

(Happy to be trolled by LM with a surprise release in the next few hours).
