October 9, 20205 yr Author Ah well, no new file update last night, but not long to wait. I do think that this is the most open and responsive a flight sim developer has ever been, so I have no complaints at that. On the user config file, this just sums up why there are so many little issues that are difficult to solve. I have been text editing my file from almost day one (8k shadow map, LOD setting, sharpening off etc.), it is not write protected, yet it never gets changed unless I make an alteration in the actual graphics settings in the sim. There are just so many differences from person to person. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. Mine is a Microsoft Store installation and though I can copy mod folders into the Community folder, my system will not allow me to copy folders out of Community. I get the "Your Organization Does Not Allow You To Place This File Here" when I try to paste a mod folder from Community to a backup location. So I preserve backup copies elsewhere at the time I first copy mod folders into Community. Much like you, I watch for others to announce an update is taking place, then I delete the added mod folders from Community. That I can do. At this point I only do that with user group created mods, such as aircraft and avionics mods. I do not delete livery folders and I have a purchased scenery package in Community and I do nothing with it prior to updates. The Community folder is not blocked except for perhaps copying folders and files out of it. And that may just be on my system. I merely held out a different method. Backing up the mod on a separate drive before installing it to Community. I can delete folders that are there. Just cannot later copy them to another location. Best way I have found is to use the Community Addons Manager. That way, only links get installed in the Community folder, and the Addons themselves are somewhere different, outside of Microsoft's protection envelope. Bert

October 9, 20205 yr Point of order. Why worry about whether you can copy out of the Community folder? If you decide you no longer want/need the offending folder...Delete it. If you want to err on the side of 'Mm, I might want/need it again some time' put the original zip file in a folder as a safe place. One less thing to stress over, n'est pas? Ummm... not knowing better, I initially assumed that I could copy addons in and out of this folder as I wanted them active or not.. That appears not to be case. 😉 Edited October 9, 20205 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
