Missing nav data after uninstalling/reinstalling (resolved)

Recommended Posts

Did a fresh P3D reinstall, uninstalled RXP GTN and the Garmin Trainer. Deleted all traces and when I redownload the RXP GTN. It runs the garmin trainer which is expected but it shows the nav data is already installed when its not. It downloads the GTN Trainer and says the nav data is there so it skips. I have no nav database in the sim or in the trainer. 661f7c5a9f46d8cc1c3d06b09d41356b.png

Hi,

Can you please post the content of the RXP log files? (see RXP GTN User's Manual for file/path).

Hello, I've got the missing database issue following a reinstall of P3Dv5.1 (5.1.12.26829). Other functions of my GTN 750/650 are working. GTN displays SW Version 6.62.4 TRNG and RXP 2.5.27.2. Windows 10 Home Build 19041.685

The log files show:

After many frustrating hours and several reinstalls I now have blank screens on both the GTN 750 and 650, so the problem now worse than before.

Garmin only allow the 2710 setup to run - uninstalling it and selecting the downloads GTNsetup.msi it states a newer version is installed and will terminate. If anyone can point me to a trainer that will run I would be grateful.

Getting to the end of my tether with this.... Help please!!!!

Thanks, Gary

Gary,
You have likely gotten your installation and licensing out of sync.  This happened to me a couple of months ago.  It only takes a few minutes so I recommend you fully uninstall RXP GTN and the Garmin Trainer, then reinstall.  I found I needed to do so with the eCommerce RXP GTN installer from the RXP website.  When I tried a fresh install using one of the RXP update installers is when I started experiencing issues.  I also recommend you install to the default locations for both the RXP GTN and the trainer.  Using the eCommerce installer will push you back through the Flight1 ecommerce wrapper, so have your email address and license key handy.  Hope it works for you.  It has helped two or three others here recently.

Hi Frank - thanks for posting. I removed the GTNs and the Garmin Trainer. Restarted the PC, installed the RXP 750 + 650 and installed the Garmin Trainer 2710. Unfortunately I've still got blank screens.

Thanks for the suggestion though - The A2A Cessna I'm using has the avionics switched on and I've set the GTN settings to Power Always On, so I can rule that out. The installers are the latest available.

Cheers, Gary

The trainer is in place, it's the latest version and it's in the location listed. It runs outside the sim perfectly - but still I have blank screens. Is there an issue using the only trainer Garmin allow you to download?

Thanks for any solutions/ideas.

Gary

One step forward - Trainer has now returned following a registry clean and reinstall - but database is still missing from GTN750 and 650.

Finally fixed.... 🤪

I was missing the database from C:\Users\my_name\AppData\Local\Temp\Temp1_GarminTrainerSetup_2400.zip\setup_resources\databases\2.4.0.0

I downloaded this from the RXP (Garmin Trainer 2400) resource and it's up an running now. I'm not certain this is the latest version, but I have a working GTN so I'm happy.

That only took 3 days.....
