October 10, 20205 yr I have several addon airports (stock airports modified per latest data) where the taxiways/gates have changed from the stock airports. However, I am unable to import the taxiways/gates from these addon airports. Basically, my questions are; 1) The user manual says that I need to run Pete Dowson's MakeRwys tool first before I can import the taxiways/gates. However, when I click the "Import Single Airport Taxiways" and "Import Single Airport Gates" on the "Gate and Taxiway Maintenance" page, does it not run MakeRwys automatically? 2) What do I need to do with the checkboxes "Overwrite Taxiways At Modified Airports", "Overwrite Gates At Modified Airports", and "Mark Airports as Unmodified". October 10, 20205 yr Commercial Member 1) You will get best results if you run MakeRunways yourself once and be sure your airports are in the output files. Then set the P3D/FSX directory to the directory the resulting files are stored. 2) if the airports in question show in the Modified Airports list, you will want to check the overwrite modified airports options. You can leave the "Mark as Modifed" unchecked if you don't want them added to the Modified list.
October 11, 20205 yr Author Dave, I have both P3Dv4.5 and P3Dv5 installed on my desktop but I am running P2Atc for P3Dv5. So when I run Taxiway Maintenance and clicks on Import Taxiways and Import Gates buttons then the MakeRwys.exe imports the taxiway and gates data based on the scenery.cfg file of P3Dv4.5 instead of P3Dv5, The file MakeRwy_Scenery.cfg shows that it is based on P3Dv5 but the file Runways.txt shows that it is based on the P3Dv4.5. When I saw this discrepency then I uninstalled P3Dv4.5, reinstalled P2Atc, rebooted the computer and ran MakeRws.exe and not it does not work - I am guessing because it cannot find P3Dv4.5 installation. I am confused as to what is going on. In my P2Atc installation I do have the path to P3Dv5 specified. Pramod
October 11, 20205 yr Commercial Member There's more than one place to specify the location of P3D. You need to be sure that the one associated with importing taxiways is set to the right folder for P3Dv5. The best thing to do is to set the P3D Root Folder on the Import Scenery tab of TaxiMnt to your P3Dv5 installation. Be sure to click button to the left of the box to select that as the input. Then move a copy of MakeRunways to that same folder and run it. It will put it's output in that folder by default. Be sure that files named t5.csv and r5.csv are created. Then, when you select Import Single Airport Taixiways, and it asks if you want to run MakeRunways, answer NO. It will use the files you just created. Dave
October 12, 20205 yr Author Dave, I already have in the Import Scenery tab my P3Dv5 correctly set up, and MakeRunways correctly intalled in the same folder. But when I run MakeRunways.exe, the Runways.txt file lists all airports but extracts the runway/taxiway/gates data of only 12 airports, all other airports are just listed in the file. Is it possible to uninstall P2Atc and reinstall it? Pramod
October 12, 20205 yr Commercial Member MakeRunways is not part of P2A, so no, reinstalling P2A will not help. P2A does not use the Runways.txt file. For taxiways and runways it uses the t5.csv and r5.csv files that MakeRunways creates. These files will have all the airports in them, unless MakeRunways did not complete the export process. Dave
