Updating the navdata in a Blackbox Sims MCDU

Featured Replies

After having the fact pointed out to me that I didn't land on RWY23L at Liege as it has been 22L for about 3 years... :biggrin: I came across another error when I was posting screenshots of the amended runway markings:

When I landed the Sky Sim MD-11 at Liege the default ATC was telling me the old numbers - 23L/5R etc. and yet the MD-11 FMC was showing 22/4 for the runway info when I checked for the ILS freqs. Thus my use of Herve Sors navdata updates for FSX was in fact working.

However, when trying to input a flight plan into the BBS MCDU to depart EBLG in an A330 freighter, the MCDU would only give me 23/5.

Would I be correct in thinking that I can only update their MCDU files via a Navigraph subscription or can the files be parsed from elsewhere - even FSX? The "current" data for the MCDU is from 2012...screenshot below.

Any ideas please?  I can of course import a flightplan into the company routes folder in FS9 format from an external planner, load the plan into FSX and use an up to date runway,  but I don't think the MCDU would allow me to select runways or a SID thereof if they are not the ones from 2012...

Yeah, either Navigraph or Aerosoft. I'm not sure if the data is similar to the old PSS one...

Well, ...crud :pedih:

Thank you, Luis!

EDIT - I was hoping one option might be just to somehow apply the navdata from Herve Sors' site into the MCDU database...
