FS9 carryover programs to FSX and how?

old fs9 dlls ( like fsnav ) are not liked by fsx. If you visit the fsnavigator site they are coming out with a new version(ver 5.0) precisely for this reason. No upgrades its a new one yu'll have to pay.Having said that let me hijack your topic, please! The biggest mission, challenge, thrill, manhood enlarger, in real life flying comes from navigating to an obscure airport without the aid of a moving map!! Especially in the night!I think fsnav kills that fun. The one skill which you learn as a pilot is spatial postion at any given time-fsnav or any moving map gps kills that skill.

Thanks for the info, and I agree about the navagation -- I think I still know how to do that , as I was a real world pilot for more years than I care to remember, however FSNav is good for me using it for radio freqs and such, much easier than looking them up LOL.BestClayPS particulary interested if anyone has figured out how to make the DF 727 work in FSXhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. FSNav was (still is) one of my favorites, and I'm hoping that they will work hard on getting the new FSX version ready.At the moment I'm using FS Commander, which is similar to FSNav - except that it doesn't do altitudes, something I really miss about FSNAV. Other than that it is a great planner, and also hooks to the GPS for a moving map etc.I have not seen a list yet, but I'm managed to get most of my favorites into FSX, some Posky jets, the MAAM RD4 (still needs work but they are also working on a patch), and several other FS9 aircraft, and some of the default FS9 stuff (Cessna 182 and 209 with floats). My PMDG Beech 1900C works nicely, but the 747 (as well as the Level D 767) are being re-written for FSX.I've also installed most of my fs9 scenery and Afcad files into FSX, and haven't run into any problems yet.Probably the single biggest problem is that FSX does not recognize FS98 gauge files, and I'm surprised at how many I was using. I love the old propliners and almost every one uses the "old style" gauges.I'm sure that others will come up with some "upgraded" panels and gauges.I had a bunch of customized panels that I've made through the years, and not a single one of them will work 100 percent in FSX.

I sent you an email but I'm not sure it went.FS commander looks very similar to FSNav which I sorely miss in FSX.How do you open it like F9 in FSNav.?Thanks,Ron

Ron,I presently have NO FS9 programs running in FSX....I have just about everything running in FS9.
