Anyone Else Waiting For FS 2020 To Mature?

Featured Replies

Bought the full fat version and already have 100 hours in it.

The important thing is that even with all the issues, I'm having lots of fun.

Currently circumnavigating the world in a mix of Cessna and Piper aircraft.

My Default Setup; MSFS, Honeycomb Alpha, Thrustmaster Hotas X, TrackIR, Samsung Galaxy Tab, JustFlight Piper Arrow. Simworks Quest Kodiak 100.

Wishlist; Honeycomb Bravo, Honeycomb Charlie.

1:400 Airline Model Collector.

While I wouldn't mind it to (further) mature, notably in the SDK and debugging departments, I am much enjoying it right now. Never before did I log (ÍF it's logged😉) so much actual flying time as I do since I switched to MSFS in February.

While I didn't see a need to uninstall my other sims right now, I have a hard time retuning to them occasionally (say, for testing purposes). This said, I am a pure VFR pilot, so proabably don't count as a serious simmer as classified in another thread.

Kind regards, Michael

You switched to MSFS in February?

And i disagree, for the first time, on a base sim, we can be serious simmer even in VFR (specially in VFR for now) 🙂

I am using both - and about half and half - the new MSFS and my old environment (FSX Classic including a single seat home cockpit driven by IFly CBE).

I enjoy MSFS sight seeing flying in GA Aircraft - I can explore areas I never flew over in older sims - just having a great experience crossing the US from NYC to LA, San Franzisco and back. I tried some IFR flying in MSFS as well - A320 with Flybywire mod - but albeit the improvements by the mod are excellent I stopped it, because it was stll too suboptimal and not as pleasant as IFR flying in FSX.

I am not yet willing to invest into MSFS (sceneries), because my plan is to travel the whole world - so why should I buy Addons for single places. Maybe in two years, when there is drivers and a software for my home cockpit and some interesting aircraft addons, I will switch entirely to MSFS. Until then I keep on dancing on two weddings.

Right. The only reason for me to eventually fire up another sim would be if I wanted to fly an accurate airliner.

Happy with MSFS 🙂

what i really wonder about is? , what is the use of threads like this, seriously.

it seems like banter from a womens knitting club, mostly.

and no, i did not read it entirely.

years and years ago these forums were a great place of information, that is still there also, but it seems to get snowed under

more and more by the blah blah topics.

Indeed, when I was admitted as an Alpha tester. From this time I fell in love and MSFS became my main sim.

Yes, that's all I did. Not worth paying for that IMO.

Are CH Controls supported? If so then oncexI add some more ram I will acquire it. And I just got RXP to. I hope they give a platform upgrade discount when they code for MSFS

I felt the same initially but ended up taking the fall.  I still fly P3D for actual IFR flying but for fun VFR even the current version of MSFS 2020 is just beautiful .... even if it is still buggy and a pain at times.  Flight models need tweaking too but the scenery is gorgeous.  And the addition of wave action and icing and some other "stuff" is pretty neat.

Those forums are places of information - but those forums are flightsimmers „knitting“ clubs as well - a place of exchange of experiences and feelings - especially in times where you are condemned to avoid other people in real life.

And a place where people like you can express their grumpiness and ill humour.

There is nothing unserious about VFR.

Don't know what CH controls you have but I had no problems with my CH Flightstick Pro, Throttle quadrant and rudder pedals.  I did have to map everything but that wasn't a surprise.

I have decided to wait until ...

I haven't flown hardly at all since the last update because the lightning everywhere just ruins it for me. I've also "moved" down south, because my home region looks rubbish thanks to bad aerial photography, and the lack of seasons is starting to kick in as my real world enters autumn and the FS remains in eternal summer. And then there's the recent graphic quality nerfs..

So for me, I'm basically tabling the sim until the next update, hoping it fixes enough annoyances and "nerfs" (which I read are unintentional) to bring me back in again. If the next update is disappointing, then I'll wait for the next next update, rinse and repeat.

FWIW, I'm not a diehard "flight sim only" guy - I play lots of video games, so I've got plenty of other titles to entertain me while MFS cooks in the oven. And unless Asobo really screws it up with future updates, I'll never uninstall it, because it offers an amazing surreal experience like no other game / sim in my collection.
