Flight 1 B200 King Air and Citation Mustang for V5

Featured Replies

Flight 1 has released a no charge P3DV5 Beta for both their King Air and Mustang. They are available through their new purchase system and will show up in your library if you purchased the complete versions (64bit).

No additional charge if you bought the V2 "Complete" version, originally for FSX/P3D3/P3D4.  And discounted to $20 if you previously bought V1 (FSX only).

That's pretty cool of F1; no telling how much time it took to make these older planes V5 compatible.

Agreed.  I had the Mustang in FSX and there was no version for P3D when I made the move, so it pretty much fell off my radar.  I picked up the V2 Complete version of the Mustang a few days ago after reading about a P3Dv5 beta here, and it feels sorta like having an old friend move back to town.  I was worried it might look terrible on my 55" display, but it's not bad at all in that respect--certainly not full hand-massaged PBR glory, but not fuzzy or blurry, either.  It was a fairly heavy performance hitter back in the FSX days...I found that it does quite well performance-wise on modern hardware.

It's a good "kick the tires and light the fires" VLJ well-suited for short flights out to ~300nm without the pomp and circumstance of my usual extensive flight setups (weather-shopping, flight planning, ground handling/pushback, FMS programming etc) and for pattern/approach work.

This thread got me curious and so went back to F1 Purchase Agent and reinstalled both the Mustang ang KA in P3dv4. Unfortunately, still getting wild fps swings between 50 and 20, even with the new computer. It's definitely the G1000s because I get 100+ fps with those off.

Oh well. Glad everyone else is enjoying these again. 🙂
