Waiting for the next Robert Young aircraft makeover

I have not gotten into the full list of requirements to make a wholly new repaint, with josns, manifests, etc that may be easy to do and understand when you're ready to digest it, but I'm simply not there yet.

If you need help, ping any time.  🙂

If it helps give you any idea what the structure would look like to do a proper drag-and-drop "paint chip" repaint, I have a little package I put together which has a repaint for each of the four Mooney base liveries here:

Thx Robert, and I did try that, plus messing around with the new variables as per this post of mine:

=
So, if I want to model an aircraft where no links exist between the talwheel and the rudder controls I would make:

x = 0 ; because I don't want to be able to steer directly using a rudder control interlink
y = 0 ; or a very high value, way above takeoff speed ?
z = 0.0 ; because I don't want any steering available whatsoever ( mehanically )
w = value_of[takeoff speed + 10] ; What do you think ?]
r = 0 ; I want to have full castering steering capabilities right from brakeoff

min and max catering angles can be left that way, and in point.0 I set the 8th field to 280, to allow the wheel to swevel 140 º either side ( should I set it to 180 º instead ? )

Thx for any sugestions / comments ...

===========================

but the end results weren't convincing :-/, at least graphically...

I'm not entirely sure but I think those steering-specific variables are only applicable to nose steering. If you enter the "180" value you are in effect disabling all the other steering variables, as your steering is entirely reliant on differential braking, so only the value relating to castoring might be relevant. However those variables are not very well done and do not deliver what the explanations describe. If it was done properly you could have much better control more easily hence the reason why many are having steering problems on the ground.

Anyone heard from Robert this week?  The forums seems to be quiet on the DA62 rework.  Hope all is OK.

He posted about liveries recently, so he seems to be around somewhat, at least.

Thanks kao.  I just picked up the Rutan Long EZ at the marketplace and am on my first fight.  This is ver 1.02 but does not have the AP added.  I hope you get it and decide to do something with the GPS/AP.  Might be a good little personal project. ha.

Robert, currently the turbo Bo is the nicest airplane to fly in the sim. It feels right, as the real air aircraft used to be. I greatly look forward to the DA62 and whatever else you get your hands on, how do I donate?

How has the Turbo Bonanza fared with the update? I have needed to position new versions for most other mods.

I did a very short flight with it and the G1000 mod and no issues.  Far from full testing, but nothing seemed any different.  The update notes mentioned changes to other planes but nothing for the Bonanza, so it is possible it was "spared" any "fixes" by Asobo.  😀

I was very close to releasing the Diamond DA62 complete make-over but the last Asobo update has sent me a little bit back to the drawing board. I think I have mostly fixed what the update did, but I don't want to release if there is a "hotfix" in the pipeline before seeing what it does. I need at least a few days testing with an unchanged sim version so there are no surprises. I'll be posting some screenshot previews maybe Saturday or Sunday showing a few liveries and the custom lighting.

That's kind of you to say. After the sim update and possible hotfix later this weekend has settled down, I'm working on a couple of improvements that might lead to either V3 or perhaps a small patch. You can donate either through Github or Nexus. Both have paypal donate links within the descriptions.

Seems totally fine to me.

Robert's lovely Turbo Bo flies just fine post update but the liveries - though selectable in Hangar and World Map - do not change on the aircraft.
