No snow with real weather - anyone had snow yet?

Sure it does. The speed in which it covers the ground is dictated by the frequency of the precip. Look at the pic I posted above. We also have control in how fast the terrain is covered. We may look into giving the end-user accessible parameters.

have any videos that show this accumulation?

I really hope there is a way for there to be snow on the ground in places where there is snow on the ground in real life without actually having to make snow fall from the sky...ie if I go to most places in Canada on a day in February when it doesn't happen to be snowing it certainly shouldn't be green.

I took off from KMSP with live weather right when snow was falling.  METAR read light snow and there was very small white circles falling from the sky while at the gate but nothing of notice while taxing or taking off.  Seems like snow might be in the game but not large enough to really notice.

As "Seasons" aren't a thing in MSF yet then you kinda think you wouldn't see Snow, so whilst it's a bit disappointing that is not happening right now at least it may be on the radar (pun intended) to be included in the future.

During your take-off from KMSP you had little snow it is not very normal, look at the weather radar on the site weather channel for example you will see that the snow precipitation shifted to the south east. At KMSP it snowed more it was the end of the snow shower. Go instead to KDEN.

Like so many things, at the moment the base sim is in flux, and so I’m adopting a wait and see methodology for Wx and a few dozen other items... who knows what the sim itself will be capable of eventually...

PS- @timest’s video is quite impressive.

One problem now is the temperature bug at high altitude airports. This morning the r/w METAR temperature at KDEN is 14F with light snow reported. Even if the MeteoBlue forecast model contains a correct prediction of temperatures in the mid teens, (which would make snow likely if clouds and precipitation are also predicted), the sim weather engine will incorrectly increase the temperature 10 to 15 degrees because of Denver’s 5,400 foot elevation. That is likely to raise the injected surface temperature above freezing, which would keep snow from forming or accumulating.

It was snowing in real life where I live yesterday, but it was raining in the game.

do you remember if the outside temp was accurately shown below 32F?

This ^^^^

I've been saying for awhile now that no seasons would be fine until we are in Winter weather in the Northern Hemispheres, and everyone is still flying in summer weather, when they look outside and see snow everywhere...

It is snowing now here at KFNL, front range rocky mnts. My back yard has an inch. Weather Force shows falling snow but no accumulation yet. We will have snow for next 20 hrs.

@Kilo60 Is dead on...I miss seasons. 😶

Especially in northern Europe where fall has started to become winter already.

I took this shot on friday

Quite a stark contrast to the same spot in MSFS, seasons will make this sim so great.
