Problems install GNS into Milviz C310R in desktop and laptop

Recommended Posts

I was hoping I could simply login to my account, download the latest installer file for GNS, get a DRM check during the install and an occasional update or DRM check when I play the game. Period.

Bert is right.  And that is why I pointed you there.  You can download the files without purchasing them again.  When you download and use these files the installers will require validating your licensing and will position the proper installation/licensing keys on the laptop.  It is not certain at this point, but this may likely be the step you are missing.  I hope that to be the case and that it will get you past the issues.

Thank you all. I'll do that. It's always nice to have options.

But going back on topic, I'm going to work on the desktop first. Since I am apparently back on track and the default GNS gauges from Milviz are working and popping out as requested on the desktop, what values should I enter on activating the RXP gauges on the desktop again?  Specifically, for Window03, Window04, and vCockpit01.

I want to get it right this time.  Do I have the RXP gauge selections correct below (before I change the gauge selection in Milviz's MVAM app and press the 'Review' button)?

Also, appended after the image below is a copy of my panel.cfg and the Realty.GNS.ini files as it exists now in the Airplane's folder before activating the RXP gauges.

Thank you

I went ahead and entered the RXP gauges as I detailed in the post preceding this one. I still have the same problem. The RXP pages are not showing up.

@Bert Pieke or @fppilot It looks like I will have to re-install. Should I just uninstall, delete the plane's folder and re-install, or do I have to uninstall RXP too? I read the GNS manual. There are no uninstall directions. However I found them in the Control Panel. Do I need to uninstall all the GNS trainers there too?

Thank you.

Sorry, only just saw this...

You are attempting to replace the default gauges by RXP gauges, using the RXP app, correct?

Instead, what you should do with Milviz aircraft, is use the MVAMS app to select the GPS setup.  It should offer an RXP gauge option.

Try that, without touching the RXP app and report back.

Post the panel.cfg file afterwards if still problems and perhaps we can help you further.

No need to reinstall anything at present.

Hi Bert, I did that already.  Please check the post before my last post. The panel.cfg file is attached to that post.

OK, lets take this one step at a time..

the panel.cfg file I see has the default gauges in it, and they work... correct?

If yes, use the MVAMS app (only) to choose the RXP gauges, save.

Then post the new panel.cfg file.

Too late. I didn't get a reply yesterday so I went ahead and replaced them with the RXP gauges which are not working now. All I see are blank screens.

Attached is the panel.cfg now.

I have back-ups and I can go back to the original working gauges if need be. Please let me know....

Hmmm.... I'm looking at the panel.cfg file and unless I'm mistaken there's no entry for RXP gauges. In which case the default should be working, but it's not.

Maybe the change in MVAMS to RXP did not carry over to the panel.cfg?

@Bert PiekeI just re-checked the MVAMS, it's now at Default WX. I don't know why since I was pretty sure I changed it to RXP gauges.  Let me see if I can restore the default gauges on the plane. I'll report back.

@Bert Pieke I'm restoring to the original gauges. It should be ready in about 10 minutes...

@oneleg Just to be sure, once you've selected the RXP gauges in the respective drop boxes, did you press the Review button then the Accept button, and did you notice the aircraft reloading itself ok?

Otherwise can you please post the content of the RXP log files (only the rxpGNS2_menu.dll.log, see RXP user's manual for path)?
