I guess the point is to keep most of the model under DRM, but remove it from specific files/folders.

I don’t k ow if that is doable, but it would be nice if they could investigate it.

I have bought premium deluxe myself, but after seeing all the amazing stuff the community has developed I would not mind if they just made it free for the rest of the users if that is what it takes.

I honestly don’t think they will sell many premium deluxe versions in the future if those aircrafts cannot be modded. MS won’t loose much money by doing it.

And it is not like everyone will pirate it they remove DRM. Most people are honest and would buy the new aircrafts.

Workingtitle alluded to the fact they found a way to MOD the premium aircraft.  They said their eyeing the Longitude.

Read on page 4 of this thread where I inquired about the Longitude:

Unlocked in a way that is supported by MS or Pirate Bay?

Not what MS wants.

But you understand that there will never be a community driven project like FBW based on pirateware?

Why? The FM is just a few text files. Sharing those hardly allows anyone to fly aircraft they haven't purchased.

Wow... I think you are missing the point here folks. Unlock does NOT mean give it to people free. Unlock means if you have paid for the aircraft, you can edit the cfg and code to modify the airplane. Just like modders have done on many airplanes.

People would pirate the living heck out of it. And laugh at the suckers that paid full price.

I was one of those ripped off for certain premium aircraft snd I'd gladly see them go to others for free if it meant we'd all get something usable out of the deal. I wonder if there's grounds for a class action suit? Lol
