Will wait until reviewers benchmark MSFS 2020 with the new AMD cards.

Exactly. It would be dumb right now to fork money down in a 3000 series card (if you could find one) vs wait a couple weeks. My initial plan was upgrade to a 3080 from my 2070 Super. I will wait to see what the AMD cards actually deliver. If the fps is close I will still go with NVIDIA. Driver support tends to be better and the hardware encoders are as well (unless this changes with RDNA 2, but it is doubtful). I think the $50 usd difference in msrp is worth that, at least for myself.

Yep, don't care.

Performance is on point.

Compared to the 1080 sure! If you are siming/gaming on 4K 16GB of vram is a better option.

I agree but I can only purchase what is actually available.

3090 is stupidly expensive, and I've had far too many issues with AMD drivers over the years thus the AMD 6000 holds little interest.

If nvidia release a 3080 (super or Ti) with more vram  I will sell my 3080 and buy that.

Let the man enjoy the card!!! He satisfied and that's what was available, have fun with the sim.

By the way, the 6800xt is a great card, and few buck cheaper, and if u r looking to lock at 30 frames the sim, only talking about 3 extra frames.  Remember FSX we were not look IN for 60 or 90 frames.

If the 6800XT proves to be as performant as AMD claims, and to be honest, even if in the end it's like 5-10% slower, I just don't see the argument for getting a 3080 when the AMD card is 50$ cheaper with 16 GB VRAM.

We need a few reliable benchmarks to compare these new AMD cards to Nividia's 3000 series. Sofar we only have AMD's own performance scores. Since lots of testers included MSFS for the Nvidia tests, I expect they will do the same for AMD cards which will give us some comparable results to base our choices on.

AMD has the advantage of more vram, at the cost of lower vram bandwidth. We will have to see what that means for us simmers.

According to a number of tech sites, while the memory bandwidth is less due to GDDR6 rather than 6X, it is offset by the large Infinity Cache which boosts performance above the 3080 level.

For me a real dilemma. 6900XT looks the best on paper but I love my G-Sync monitor which won't work with the AMD card!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
