With whatever other tools you have outside of MSFS, make sure MSAA and FXAA (basically any other types of anti-aliasing) are off - forced off even better.

Then in MSFS ensure it hasn't reset your Vsync to on (as it did on mine).  I set it back to off.  TAA was already still selected in the sim.

I was one of the ones complaining about the poor AA effects, and update 5 has really improved the situation for me.

Also, on my 1080Ti, I was on 1440 at 20% scaling.  Now I can push to full 4k at 80% scaling (3840) and it is amazing - pin sharp.  On this setting the instruments, aircraft, and scenery are looking absolutely beautiful.
unfortunately, on this old card, 90% and above scaling at 4k just drop me below 30fps.  I did try on 100% though and it was even more amazing.  This was flying around Japan last night in the RY Turbo G36.
I have never had performance and visuals like this though.  Roll on my new GPU in the New Year now by the look of it - can't wait, and hopefully 4k full 100% everywhere then!

The jaggies around the distant scenery, aircraft panel lines, liveries, window, lines, and radio bezels on the panel have all but gone.
If I look closely when moving the view I see slight jaggies for a split second, but then when the movement stops they disappear, but this is how temporal AA is supposed to work I believe.

Whatever experience other people have, this has been a massive change for me.

One unusual bug.  I have to set my desktop to 4k in windows (normally 1440) or 4k mode in MSFS doesn't display properly - it still looks a bit 'rough'.  When setting a 4k desktop it is perfect. No major issue to do this before starting the sim though.

Another strange one.  Does the new motion blur effect your smoothness generally in the sim?  I have mine set to ultra and it is super smooth now when panning around or in the external view, and this is on my new 4k setting!  Used to be slightly choppy before on 1440.

Actually, that is one of the points of motion blur, it smoothens the motion and hides stutters / choppiness.

Great.  Well in that case. they have done a good thing then, as it my view, I get the smoothness without any actual 'blur' at all.  Unless it is just my old card handling the 4k better than 1440 setting, which is a bit counter intuitive.

Just worked out that my 'virtual screen sizes were/are as below: -

1440 at 120% scaling is a virtual 1728 screen size (horizontal pixels of course).

And my new 4k (3840) setting at 80% is a virtual screen size of 3072!

So no wonder I am now seeing a massive increase in display quality and sharpness!  And Still at 30+ FPS around Japan last night, mainly high settings, but windscreen reflections and motion blur on ultra. 'Few clouds' setting on weather, and RY G36 with updated G1000 mod.

I really hope this holds up and wasn't a glitch lol!  But the smoothness and sharpness spoke for themselves.

Performance in the sim is exceptionally good, if you know what you're doing that is.

Hmm will have to give that a try and bump up from the default of medium...

Is it just me who thinks the sharpness is a bit overdone now after the patch?

I will try turn off the extra sharpness option in Nvidia panel to see if it suits better in my taste.
