November 1, 20205 yr Hi What can be done about the abysmal depiction of waterscape when cruising in the flightlevels and looking down? It looks worse than vanilla FSX at times. My setttings are one notch below maximum detail for water. Any advice is appreciated. Edited November 1, 20205 yr by SAS443 EASA PPL SEPL + NQ / CB-IR in progress MSFS24 | X-Plane 12

November 1, 20205 yr That looks similar to what I see at high water detail levels in P3Dv4.5HF2. My solution? I pulled the water slider all the way to the left, so that there is no wave texture at all. My water looks much better now Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
November 1, 20205 yr Here exactly the same terrible cloudshadows when they exist in the sun’s reflection on the water. Outside the bright reflection they look good. With EA enabled it looks much better. Anyone posted this at the LM forum ? I will join in that topic. November 1, 20205 yr Yes, the terrain and cloud reflection looks worse in V5.1. At the moment I have not seen a particular topic about this in LM forum. I just made one comment: https://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=140048 "It's not worth uploading another video, now we can see there is a lot of commented about the issues related to EA (Flashing, pixelated edges around objects, trees and buildings, distorted clouds, sky too orange, bad cloud and terrain reflections, too much haze making impossible to fly in VFR or without instruments". Regards. Edited November 1, 20205 yr by alox
November 1, 20205 yr I already used the word "catastrophic" in one of my earlier post about EA 5.1. Only the overall sky dawn and dusk colors are better as before when using standard presets.....but that's it. 6 months after it's initial release such a word not allowed output is really remarkable. I think they had to do much more backbone work to gain performance and gain stability. As now the most complains are about PBR, Weather plugin and EA visual looks, I hope they will do visible improvements within a Hotfix the next days and weeks. I really do not hope the next visual enhancement let us wait for another 6 months. That would be a shame as they sold true sky 6 months ago as implemented and after release they suddenly stated it is beta. Before release no word about that. Bad marketing! Bad taste. November 1, 20205 yr Author I am little confused with the whole EA implementation. It is still not mature, many products do not play well with it, and you get some funky looking visuals at certain times of day (and I dont mean that in a Good way) Also, as some has already pointed out, aircraft lighting and shadows seem broken aswell. hopefully hotfix can cure some of the bugs. Regards. Hi, try deactivate Dynamics Reflexions for getting rid of pixelated edges with EA. This fix also the rain and fog in VC at P3D V5 HF2, and helps with the performance a lot. Bad news is that the vanilla global map for reflections is pretty bad sometimes.
