No weather Engine P3DV5

Recommended Posts

Since active sky is not available, I use the P3DV5 own Truesky, but there is no cloud or weather generation or anything. Why? P3D does not have its won weather engine?

P3D does not have a weather engine. Try P3DWX in the meantime. This is what I use.

Best regards,
Luis Hernández 20px-Flag_of_Colombia.svg.png20px-Flag_of_Argentina.svg.png

Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 5 5600X @ 4.5 GHz 2x8 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia GTX1650 4 GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@30-144 Hz, Windows 10 Pro.  Runing P3D 4.5 and FSX-SE. XP11 Vulkan installed, but not yet tried. Will MSFS2020 run? If so, what do I do with 5 sims then?

Mobile rig: ASUS TUF FX504GD (Intel i5 8300H @ 2.3-3.7 GHz; 2x8 GB DDR4-2666 RAM; Nvidia GTX 1050 2 GB; 256 GB M.2 SSD + 1 TB SATA III SSD as storage; Windows 10 Home). Running FSX-SE and FS9 there.

Saitek X-52 as primary controller. Xbox 360 wired and eDimensional G-Pad Pro wired controllers as standby/travel. Fell in love with VKB Gladiator NXT Premium, now saving...  🙂

Speaking of PILOT’s FSGW ... can’t believe no one has posted about their new B314??  It’s a gem!!  High quality gem.

Agree with OP there should be a weather engine as part of P3D.  But LM has always been about allowing 3rd party devs to evolve the product so LM provide a robust SDK/PDK to allow for that to happen.  200 3rd party developers are a stronger force than 8-12 core developers ... so the philosophy of P3D is to provide a robust and capable SDK/PDK and let 3rd party do the rest.

Cheers, Rob

Whats even more entertaining is if you buy a Cat D full motion sim for about 25-30 million dollars guess what?

It doenst have a weather engine either its setup panel is almost identical to P3D...
