November 5, 20205 yr Today my Inno3D iChill X4 3090 will arrive. As performance of V5.1 is very good I am thinking that maybe I better return it and get back the 1700 euros Now using a 2080 Ti connected to 2x 4K in NVsurround. Since V5.1 + EA I already increased LOD from High to Max. EA clouds at Max. AG range still at Medium. AG vegetation still at Very Dense and AG buildings at Dense. Cloud shadows High . Clouds + Terrain cast shadows. Terrain + Objecrs receive shadows. I still use 25 hertz / Unlimited. - - Anyone of you upgraded already from a 2080 Ti to a 3090 and willing to share your experience? November 5, 20205 yr Honestly, it's not worth the money for P3D. Not even worthwhile for the other sim. Save yourself 1700 euro Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers

November 5, 20205 yr Author In MSFS with 4K the difference is 20-25% depending on the settings. Has one of you tried a 3090 ? November 5, 20205 yr The only reason I would upgrade from my 1080ti msi lightning z to a 3090 is if I could run 4xssaa on my 50inch 4k without a performance hit. mike
November 5, 20205 yr I do not plan on changing my GPU until next year may wait till summer 2021 then think about it. my sims run fine. Raymond Fry.

November 5, 20205 yr @GSaldenthe problem still exists of being CPU bound. 3090 just pushes the bottleneck to the CPU. Where a 3090 might be advantageous is if you are GPU bound AND have CPU headroom. But the gains I would expect to be minimal. source: I have a 3090 and 10900k at 5.1. Previous card 2080ti. The card just arrived and I put my 2080 (client) for sale. This afternoon someone is coming for that card. I remember you had some intricacies to your setup... If so, the only way I could see this helping is if you could move from a frame lock of 24 to 30. If you are locking your frames to 24 then theoretically a 25% gain would get you to 30... At $2,000 USD that's $333 per FPS... Only you can determine if it's worth it... As someone who measures consumables compared to race tires that seems like a right bargain! We can go through $2k per tire set in 60 minutes at least you can keep your FPS longer than an hour 🙂 Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

Good luck with it!! That is essentially your 25% gain right now if you move to locked @30 from 25... I've never seen the sim run @25hz so can't speak to that but would imagine unless your monitors are native 50hz not 60hz or 120hz that moving to 30FPS and 1/2 or 1/4 refresh might improve things a bit. Either way, enjoy it! Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
