FBW A320 Latest Dev Revision

Recommended Posts

It looks like they are beginning to implement more MCDU features.  I got the latest dev release and now there are new pages in the MCDU.  It looks like they are working on ATSU and you now have the ability to get weather reports via company msg in the MCDU.  I'm on a flight right now and it seems to be accurate.  There are a bunch of new options in the MCDU Menu area as well.  I haven't check to see if it is functional at the moment but it looks like cool things to come!

Promising. The modded neo is my primary big iron these days.

Nice progress! I have been flying P3D and FSLabs few weeks while waiting the A32NX and MSFS to mature. Is there any news about autopilot, fbw and flight model upgrades on A32NX?

FBW and autopilot upgrades are still a bit further out. The flight model has been improved with a further refinement on the way.

Our first iteration of custom fly-by-wire is almost done, our main developer working on it just has to fine-tune the controller a bit based on pilot feedback and add yaw damping support. Also, there appears to be unresolvable conflicts with the default autopilot and autothrust system, so we may unfortunately have to hold off on releasing it until we also rewrite the autopilot from scratch on top of FBW - this seems to be an all-or-nothing type of deal the way it's curently looking.

Thanks for the info. Great work!

Please pass on our congratulations and SINCERE APPRECIATION to the entire team.  What you folks are doing is beyond incredible.  The work so far has been outstanding, and I am glad that even Asobo is paying attention.

I have been doing some extrapolation, and if work were to continue at this pace... a freeware A320 at very high fidelity is entirely possible by next summer.. THAT would be something incredible! The fact that you are already dabbling in ATSU is brilliant! Performance calculation will be hugely important (once performance is textbook).

At this point, subscribing to Normal, Alternate and Direct Laws seems to be the primary hurdle.  The systems and MCDU page depth seem to be coming on line at a much more rapid pace.  Faithful AT/AFDS seems to be further away.  NONE of this should dilute my primary message of gratitude and amazement.  There are already scenery companies in the Flight Sim world, quaking in their boots.  Your aircraft may have others doing the same.

I am excited to hear of your foray into the Super Jumbo world, but I hope that all (non-modeling) efforts are placed on the underlying Fifi processes in the A320 first.

Regardless, I remain obliged.

BRAVO ZULU!

Thanks a lot @IcemanFBW!! It is truly amazing what you guys have accomplished in such a short time. Your mod adds immensely to my enjoyment of the sim and is one of the main reasons I do 90% of my flights in the A320.

Yep, a great mod.  You know it's the real deal when a RW airbus driver (320 Sim Pilot - YouTube) gives it the thumbs up and provides feedback on how it could be improved.

starting to get back into simming again - cheers FBW team.
