Asobe Bonanza G36 - Not always in Aircraft line up

Featured Replies

I am hoping that someone can help with this issue. The Bonanza does not always show up when starting the FS 2020. I have it in the community folder - Bonanza-Turbo-V2 - and in the content manager as follows;

Asobo Bonanza G36  0.1.54. up to date  484.19 MIB  ..and ... Asobo / R.Young Bonanza 1.10     Custom Content   3.34 MIB

The aircraft line up totals 30 but the Bonanza is not among them. Conversely a few days ago it showed up in all its glory much to my delight since it is one of the planes that I had working well in the sim. But it disappeared again after one day. I would appreciate help on this issue.

Thanks a lot.

NOTE:  The latest turbo mod is actually V3 not V2.

Unless you specifically modify the Turbo Mod files yourself to keep both the old version and the Turbo mod version,  the mod will replaces the default version with the Turbo version.

Thanks for the fast response. So... the trick is for me to delete the Turbo mod V2 from the community folder and download the latest  (V3) version and install it. I am assuming that it will automatically overwrite the Asobo version. Is that the correct way of doing this?

I appreciate your help.

Yes, you don't need to touch any files outside of the Community Folder. Just delete the V2 and replace it with the V3.

You will only see ONE G36 in your hanger - this will be the Turbo. To be sure you have it correctly installed, check your liveries - if you have the mod liveries, you have installed it OK. V3 of the mod also added a bronze and brown colour livery.

My Joy was a bit premature. V3 shows up in the community folder and in the Content manager as v3.0.0. but when starting FS2020 no luck on the list of planes.  The Bonanza is not to be found. So I am doing something wrong.

Is the standard Asobo one in the list?

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Try searching 'Beechcraft' on the Aircraft Selection page.

I had Stdd G36 & the Turbo both installed, but only the Turbo was showing up until I searched Beechcraft, then they both appeared in the lineup.

The standard is located in the official/store/asobo-aircraft-bonanza-g36

with the Bonanza-Turbo-V3 in the community folder.

If the you can see the default bonanza in the list of planes in the hanger then you are good. The mod replaces the default

The only Beechcraft planes I have is the King Air and the Baron 58. I used to have the Bonanza but not anymore.

Do you perhaps have other liveries installed, for the B36 in particular? Some have been known to create conflicts. If so, try removing those from your Community folder and try again.

Also, a likely solution - make sure that inside the V3 folder are the extracted files, not another zipped folder. I recall that you need to unzip a folder which exposes yet another zipped folder inside. That then needs to be extracted too, and only that one moved to the Community folder.

Also make sure it is your actual community folder. The game sometimes create several but only one is the real one.

To double check the location of the community folder fire up the game and then:

1. Go to Options / General

2. Click on "Developers" which you will find at the bottom of the list on the left

3. Switch Developers Mode on

4. On the Dev Menu select Tools / Virtual File System

5. The community folder location can be found under "Watched Bases"

6. Remember to Switch Developers Mode off

Gentlemen, Thank you again for your help. The problem appears to have been solved. I deleted all of the livery folders from the Community folder and after restarting MSFS 2020 the Bonanza G 36 Turbo was easily found. Coincidentally MSFS updated the sim and during this process . I then reinstalled all the liveries to determine if they were the problem and after restarting the sim it turned out that the Bonanza was no longer available. I shut down the sim and  deleted all the liveries again and sure enough after restarting the sim, the Bonanza was available including a whole lot of Bonanza liveries. I'll leave the other liveries uninstalled until things become more stable.

I want to thank you all for the amazing help you have given me and all this in such a short period of time.

I am amazed.
